I agree you should steer clear of the musclemags, one of the biggest lifting mistakes I've made was opening one of those. Eat lots, squat and keep the volume at about 5-6 sets of high intensity direct bi/tri work.
This is my routine.
BB rows, 3 sets- 5, 6, 8
weighted chins, 3 sets- 5, 6, 8
seated cable rows, 3 sets of 8
As always keep the intensity high and watch it grow!
The more muscle you build the longer it takes to recover. Keep the volume low and the intesity balls to the wall and you shouldn't have any problems progressing. Although I find a slight variation here and there helps to keep my training fresh which keeps my enthusiasm higher.
This is pretty much how I do it. I do 3-4 sets for tri's and 9 for chest. I can't speak out against changing exercises often because I've never done it but as long as my lifts progress I always grow so I stick with the same moves and increase weight almost weekly. One thing that has helped when...
There's nothin for a great pump like crankin up a little Kenny G!!
Haha, I'm kidding of course:)
I like Tool, Ozzy, Metallica and System of a Down. Oh and of course The Eye of the Tiger for a little old school motivation:thumb:
I read that study too Chicken( assuming we are talking about the same one) and the subjects were not doing any exercise. I think if you keep the protein high and the carbs low combined with resistance training you can cut to a certain degree with no cardio.
That is the exact same split I use and it has been working well for me. I would recommend 6 meals a day. There are 2 reasons for protein drinks-1. convenience 2. Faster absorbtion. Try and get most of your meals from solid foods. I take 2 meal replacements a day so I don't spend my whole life in...
OK thanks everyone. I am going to either keep chins for 2 sets or do a v-bar pull down instead. But I am going to stop doing them first, I will probably do them after BB rows.
I've been doing chins in my back routine for months now and I HATE doing them. I was wondering how many of you have had good overall back developement without them, and if so what does your back routine consist of. Any input will be much appreciated:D
