I am bulking at 3000 calories right now, and today I went over an extra 200 calories. This isn't my cheat meal, and I'm doing an extremely clean bulk no messing around.

I want to keep it at 3000 so I don't gain weight to fast, like I did on my last bulk which ended out to be more of a fat gain program then aynthing. Tommorow if I had 2800 calories, would that offset the extra 200 today? Or should I just do 30 minutes of cardio after my workout?

My other question is...

Lets say you are bulking at 3000 calories...With the one weekly cheat meal on a friday night for myself. At 3k calories I am at a 500 cal surplus/day. So at the end of the week I would be at 3500 = 1 pound.

BUT how does the cheat meal affect things? Lets say it was an extra 500-1000 calories on my daily intake, so is my new weekly intake 4000-4500? Or does it not work that way? I have never really understood it.

And another factor would be like lets say its a 500 calorie meal and fits right in my daily calorie intake...but its not a clean meal (high gi carbs, bad fats, fatty protien) but it still equals my normal meal how would that affect my weekly intake?

Last question is how does doing cardio affect my clean bulk? Does bulking and cardio even belong in the same sentence? I was wondering if lets say I did cardio after my workout twice a week, and maybe on one of my off days. Would this help keep my bulk slower, and more clean? I dont mind if I only gain .5 lb a week, I'm more about quality then quantity. I'm in no rush I've already been huge, but now I'm lean and want to see how BIG AND LEAN I can get. Before I was just huge, because I bulked like an animal, but now I'm trying to really figure out the science to it.

I usually do 30 min on the eleptical, at a 120-130 hr so I'm guessing I'm burning around 200-300 calories, would I just subtract this from daily intake?

And can I lower the calories to maintenance on off days, and up the protein and lower the carbs and up the fats?

I want to make it a really slow bulk, but I dont want to waste my time either. How slow is too slow? Is their a point where my body won't even build muscle because the surplus is too small? I'm at 5'11 170 6% bf, I'm only looking to bulk to 175-180 and stay just about as lean if humanly possible.

Sorry for my long azz post, got alot of questions. Been doing this for a while but never really had any true knowledge, just ate, trained, slept and did it again the next day. It's great now that I'm on this site I'm learned all the ins and outs to everything in this obsession of bodybuilding I have!!

15-17 cals per pound to bulk, 13-15 to maintain, and 10-13 to lose

Sounds different from what I always heard...

12 to cut
15 to maintain
18 to bulk

And then adjust as needed...Your numbers seem way to low...I'm 170lbs if I did 10x bw to lose I'd be having 1700 calories a day which is way to low. And no way would I bulk on 2550 calories maybe gain .0001 lb a week? lol

you calories are fine, and dont worry about going 200 cals over, you wont notice the difference.
