I understand that. Don't get me wrong, I just thought it would be better if she tried herself first.Jill said:Therapy is just a suggestion![]()
Pimp, I don't think you know what eating disorders are all aboutIf you do this on your own, then you will gain a new level of self control.
I understand this Jenny. I have known many a people with eating disorders. It seems to me like beating it on your own is the best way to go about it. I don't have firsthand experience, but nonetheless...Jenny said:NJ, Welcome to IMYou are beautiful! You've got some great advice here, I'm glad!
For all the people who are against therapy, well, I don't know what to say. First of she called herself an anorexic and I don't think you understand how many issues there are behind an eating disorder. It's NOT about the eating.
Pimp, I don't think you know what eating disorders are all aboutIt's about CONTROL for the most part, controlling what you eat and being a perfectionist. The last thing she needs is more control. I changed my eating and stopped my bulimia over one day and never looked back, I did not really feel a new level of self control at all. The issues were still there even though the disordered behaviour wasn't. It's very complex and I wouldn't be where I am without therapy, that's for sure.
NJ, my PM box is open if you need to talkGood luck!! Let us know how it goes!
greekblondechic said:Hello! Sorry I am popping into this thread so late! I just wanted to say you have come to a great place where the people are really supportive and helpful, and a bunch of us here have overcome or are fighting to overcome eating disorders.. so it's like we have a little staff of themDon't you worry about what other people consider to be anorexia or not. Personally, I think 500 is extremely low! I was experiencing a lot of bad side effects when I was eating about 900-1000.. I can see why you don't have any energy girl! But def increase SLOW.. so your body doesn't pack on 10lbs in 2 weeks like mine did from jumping to way high calories too fast! DEF don't take EC.. it really only makes things worse because it kinda makes you eat even less, and you are running on empty.. and your body will eventually just burn out. I took EC for a while because I felt like that was the only way I could get a decent work out.. but now I eat more... and I don't feel like I need anything. Sure I am not bouncing off the walls, but I am not doing so bad either. As for becoming toned.. I think, with the changes in your diet, and most importantly WEIGHT TRAINING for you, you will achieve the body you want in a short time. You already do look amazing.. I can honestly say I would be jealous if I saw you out at a club or something. BTW, I am from Jersey too! I live in central NJ, in Middlesex County.. If you wanna know more specifically where, PM me. Maybe we can hang out sometime!

You know how hard it is for people to do it on their own? Most of the time, they need external supports and motivation.Jenny said:There are things people will never understand or come to terms with if they do it on their own. Unless they read read read and apply it to themselves. If you've never been in therapy you don't know the difference it can make.
