ok so i work out and im sweating. in a zone. looking like i just want to fuckin kill everyone and anyone that comes near me. ppl look at me and im sure theyre thinking, wtf is wrong with this guy. anyone else looked at this way? lol im sure

I feel ya bro

When I work out stimmed up on DMAA/Caff and got a huge pump going I feel the entire gym is staring at me.

Pay them no mind they are just admiring the muscles..

Who really gives a shit if people are staring at you? I've got more important things happening at the gym than worrying about what people think of me.

Actually, I have been told by almost all of my friends that strangers think I am crazy most of the time. I just have one of those faces I guess. In the gym, I am sure it is amplified, because the more I concentrate, the crazier my face looks.

Apparently, strangers also assume I am angry. That part may or may not be true depending on my mood.

That's what I mean. I'm there with this look of death lol and I'm not pissed at anything specific I'm just wanting to fuckin kill it while I'm there.

Before we opened our own, Mrs.V. and I got a lot of stares in the gym. I'm not a bodybuilder and not big at all (only 185lbs - different goals than most of you) but we train pretty hard doing real lifts, ya know...squat, deadlift, Bench (well, I dip, she benches), Pendlay row, clean and jerk... things like that.

Lots of stares from that, especially when she was deadlifting because so few women squat or dead. But at least the real lifting side of the gym was nearly private to us because very few used it... but eventually some caught on because we get results and they weren't... and they joined us.

Alas, the gym didn't like when bars got dropped on a missed dead or clean and jerk.... so we opened our own and now are totally busy with their former clients who do the real lifts too. :)

When they stare, it's often in facination because they've never seen someone actually working out, they are used to seeing people playing with machines with very little intensity.

Ignore them if it bothers you... teach them if they are interested and you are so inclined.

I get it a lot. And I've had the off-handed "crazy" comments here and there. But the biggest surprise/look of astonishment is when ppl say the first word. I'm in the zone, headphones, just me and the weights so I don't go out of my way to talk. But if I'm approached I always open up. It always throws the guys I don't talk to to hear me say something because I speak openly and concisely.... lol then you get the "ha, this guys isnt a psychotic meathead at all" look. ahaha

I get this a lot too, and it's annoying as fuck. People always telling me to smile more. I am me, I have my face this way cause I want it this way, fuck off! I don't wear my emotions on my face too easily, except for when I am pissed off.. being a ginger, you can definately tell when I am pissed.

I train at home, but I am sure I would get just as many stares in the gym, from doing REAL lifts and sometimes letting out noise to get over the hurdle. I can only imagine my face when lifting, would probably scare the shit out of people.

a lot of people workout in gyms but not many exercise at very high levels of intensity.

just go in there and do your thing.

Lots of ppl go to the gym and push this and pull that and sweat a little and they think they worked out. Meanwhile they spent half the time there talking to this guy or that chick, or my personal favorite, lifting up their shirts to see their abs. Gimme a break. I know I look mean, like a total insane asshole, but I work out. I kill it everytime

Hell ya! I don't workout in gyms anymore, have my own set up. But yeah, till this day, I do get pissed off everytime I lift. That way I assure myself of getting 100% out of every workout. Lifting weights allows me my clearest thoughts. And when I'm done, I feel as if I really did accomplish something.

Im usually a guy whos always laughing and joking around but in the gym I am the complete opposite. Most people stare if your bigger (which for a commercial gym would be over 180lbs lol) or rack more than 3 plates on a compound lift. The only downside is you probably wont be finding a spotter anytime soon so you might as well wear an over sized singlet and give them something to look at.

Hmm no offense but I'll pass on the singlet. Lmao

I scream very loud when I'm on the decline bench. I don't give a fuck when people look at me.

Never said I was strong. I'm not that strong. I'm saying I put everything I have into it. But if you're saying its pointless despite being strong or not, I do it because I think it actually helps. It's a mental thing. I just get angry and like to lift angry.

Yelling your head off, causing others to lose focus helps you get angry? :hmmm: I'll agree to disagree and i'll leave it at that.
