Yes.

When you stop progressing, you may be overtraining. There are many signs of overtraining, such as feeling tired and drained all the time, feeling unable to focus, and becoming unable to progress in your workouts.

great so ive been overtraining alot then hehe, so when i feel dizzy and unable to keep going i stop training right?, sometimes i like to refuel drink some water eat something light and go back to training.. is that good?..

I meant that when you're not working out, if you feel tired all the time, this is probably a sign of overtraining. It is definitely a bad idea to keep training if you feel dizzy. Some people will tell you ridiculous things like you need to squat until you puke to have an effective workout, etc. but that's terrible advice. In fact, studies show that if you actually lift for more than 47 minutes, your workout becomes counterproductive. This isn't to say that you should never do this, but keep in mind that too much is sometimes simply too much. Water is definitely good. Keep yourself hydrated at all times, especially during workouts.

im a boxer, i usually have very long workouts, but since ive drank the protien shakes ive limited them, usually i did 20 3 minute rounds on the heavybag, 1 minute rest after every 3 minutes, 4 3 minute rounds of shadow boxing, 10 minutes of jump roping 200 push ups 500 sit ups 4 rounds of head movement then bench pressed about 80 or 100 lbs 50 times and that included my workout, is that too much to be doing while taking protien shake?

and i didint actually feel dizzy i just felt dead tierd, and i allways drank a gallon of water b4 i did all this...

From my understanding, it is necessary for a good boxer to have a lot of endurance. I'd say it's perfectly reasonable, therefore, to work out for more than 45 minutes, even if it includes lifting. I really know almost nothing about boxing or the training involved, however, so I wouldn't really know what to tell you about whether you're overtraining as far as boxing goes. Maybe Foreman will see this thread and he can give you some advice on that subject.

First off I did some very low level pro boxing ( only 3 fights) so I'm no expert at all. The question I have for you is do you have a trainer??? If not then you need to get one now. Boxing is nothing like weight lifting......boxing is pure skill......so training alone will not cut it at all.

My biggest workout was 5 hours and it was a living hell ( and showed that I had no idea how to train at that time) .....once I got a trainer I never put that much time in one day.

Post how you train every day....mon-sun....break it down day by day and tell me how much time you put in each day.

Yeah you need a trainer. and a good one, not one thats going to pressure you into going pro too early so they can make money off you. its a meat market.

i had a trainer, i want atleast 100 amature fights b4 i turn pro, since i moved ive checked some trainers out but they are just not much in my eyes, they just wanna few box to teach ya a few things but not really want to see some of does guys go pro.. but my dad is looking for a good trainer that will train me and will have me fighting etc...

well i do alot of things for training diffrent days i do diffrent things, somedays i run about 7 miles do about 500 push ups 200 squads shadow boxing, constantly moving jumping up and down head movement etc building up speed jump roping 20 minutes then 4 rounds of power punching the heavybag, other days i run 3 or 4 miles do about 5 sets of 20 of pull ups grab 10-15 lbs dumb bells and shadow box with them for a few rounds, i dont know what this other exercise is, but i walk like a duck sorta lol get down and start walking around (in my garage dont wanna look like i need a psychiatrist lol) but i do that for awhile and then start jumping fromt aht positiong, i go all the way down and jump as highest i can, sometimes i put a chair and jump over it for a while etc... there are numerous exercises i do diffrent days, when i was with my trainer id circled the ring from side to side, and took rounds using 1 punch like, 1st round nothing but the jab, second round nothing but the right cross, 3rd round left hook, 4th round right hook etc... very good workout but allways end up exhausted till now ive been taking it easy gained a few pounds of muscle, i was training wrong i heard because i ate 1 or 2 big meals a day and trained very hard, i think i lost alot of strenght.. but i was in pretty good shape lol even the sixpack was already comming alive just that i heard that does pounds i lost i gained easily, and if u do it proper does pounds you loose usually stay off... now im just doing 15 rounds heavybag 200 pushups 700 sit ups (diffrent positions) jump roping shadow boxing with dumbells and a few squads, but eating lots of protien following the meal plans that i found from this site on the Cutting Threat ( http://ironmagazineforums.com/showthread.php?t=6620 ) and it seems to be working fine, followed it for 4 days so far i feel good, im no longer starving like i use to be and no longer feeling dizzy when i got up from my bed, taking multi vitimans 2, and my power has really improved, six pack is bigenning to show faster than other days that ive worked on it.. but yea any advise would be good, till i get me a real good trainer(boxing trainer)

Most important thing is to learn how to punch and learn your footwork...

Also when you run its good to have a long day once a week ( like the 7+ miles you run) but also you need to do some hit running....so do sets of 200m-800m.....sprints. When I ran I never did more than 800m-1600m ( except for my long/cardio day),,,did fast 800m runs, rested 1-2 min then ran it again.....you need to be able to explode for 2-3 minutes at a time.

yea i do sprint 2, i usually explode all the way to my house and scared the shit out of my parents lol i was breathing pretty hard since i was running for my life for like 5 minutes id say, everybody kept starring at me when i was running to my house haha thats why i do it at night now to stop scaring the nieghbors hehe, and yes i know how to punch and i have very good footwork, im skilled, i use to do this exercise, theyd but me in there with a fucken horse jockey and id have to cut off the ring on the little fucker lol, good exercise, but yea i can punch pretty hard and have blinding speed lol im a big fan of muhammad ali so i use to work on my speed alot and my legs to glide out the way but i dont actually box like that its not smart hehe, like pulling back on punches, ive practiced that alot but dont do it much cause i know u'll get knocked the fuck out once u get caught hehe
