Ok, so I believe I have thought up a very good routine and I haven't seen anything like this anywhere before. I'm not entirely sure how to self label it.

Monday: A full body interpretaion of "meltdown" training. Basically a full body routine done in about 4-6 excercises. I'm picking Deadlift, Standing Overhead Press, Row, Bench, and then a set of 20 rep squats.

Meltdown training is picking a weight a little over half of what your 1rm would be. 1st set is 15 reps, 2nd set is a 30 second static hold, 3rd set is 15 reps again, 4th set is 45 second static hold, 5th set is 15 reps, 6th set is one minute static hold, and 7th set is a final attempt to get 15 reps. The static holds are pyramided up increasing the weight for each attempt while the sets of 15 are kept the same at 55-60 percent of 1rm. The longer the static hold, the more weight is used.

Then for tuesday-sunday perform a very very brief and lightweight fullbody workout each day using 1 set of 5. These workouts should help build muscle endurance, and improve contractile function. Overtraining should not be an issue and recovery ability might actually be improved (think of how a deload works but on a smaller scale).

I just wanna see what people think of this method. Happy lifting!

If your natty.... It's to much work, IMO

If your assisted.... Give it a try, could still be to much work.

Is hypertrophy your main goal? Not sure how effective that would be. I also doubt you'd get very strong doing that.

There may be a reason you haven't seen this one around anywhere before.

It still sounds workable to me. I'm not on drugs or anything. I mean when it's broken down it's basically just one tough fullbody a week followed by 5-6 easy ones until the enxt tough one. I mean people work tough jobs like masonry /landscaping/construction and they lift heavy things everyday. I don't see a problem with lifting every day and only once a week really focusing on a tough workout. I don't think it's even close to overtraining.

I don't see the point or benefit, but if you want, do it and log it. It would be interesting to see how you make out.

Lifelong Goal - Do it for 6 months and report back. End of thread. No point talking about what-ifs, get in the gym and do it three times a week for at least 6 months and see what happens.

I can come up with a million ideas for different training programs, but doesn't mean they're going to work. The ones i've posted here or on my site have been tried by me, or people i know, before i've posted them.

Other people have tried them after that (Juggernaut, Flathead, Halo, Omerta2010...few others) and seen great results too.

Get in the gym and try it out. After doing it for a while you'll know what's working and what isn't and can change it. Perhaps you'll get a great program out of it.

At the end of the day if you won't even commit to the program, why the hell should anybody else? At that point it's just the same as a random workout generator. Or worse, crossfit.

No doubt bro I'll be the first test monkey. I'm just finishing up the end of my break before I get back into it again. Just to clarify it's not a 3x a week routine. At any rate if this gets me anywhere I'll be back to post the results and the rest of the theory behind why i like the idea and why I originally thought it might be sucessful.
