I'm currently on a 3 day split...

M - Chest, Bi's, Tri's, Calves

W - Legs

F - Back, Shoulders, Calves

I was considering moving to a 5 day split, as my current routine has me in the gym for a long time (90 mins).

I'm curious about how to set it up, though - for example, when working chest, tri's are also indirectly worked... so do i need to keep tri's on the same day as chest? Or could i do something like monday - chest, tuesday - tri's/bi's?

You could do it either way. Try a 4 day split:

(example)

M - Chest/Bi's
T - Legs
W - OFF
R - Shoulders/Tri's
F - Back/Traps
S - OFF

You're spending waaaay too long in the gym, 60 minutes max. Either speed up your rest between sets, and/or cut the volume down.

So working my tri's indirectly on monday (when i do chest i DO feel it in my tri's), and then again on thursday is ok? Not excessive?

And why is 60 minutes the max i should be in the gym? I certainly dont like to be in the gym longer, but i didnt know it was actually frowned upon?

thanks :)

Well, the indirect work on your tri's should not be a problem, but that was just an example, adjust however you want...you could switch R & F.

alright... sounds good. ill give it a try.
