It depends on what kind of diet you are on and when you
are drinking this shake.
Like I said whey is absorbed really quickly.
If you want to slow down digestion,
the casein from the milk
will definitely slow down the digestion of the whey.
But if you really want the full benefits of the whey
than you should use regular milk or full fat milk.
In addition to the casein the fat will also slow down
the digestion process to ensure that the proteins
will not go to waste. Fat takes the longest time
to digest out of all the macronutrients.
But milk is not the best choice to mix your whey with
after a workout.
You want to replenish and feed your body as quickly as
possible and milk will only slow down digestion.
If you're tryin to gain mass than milk would be a good
choice to mix with your whey except for post workout.
If you are cutting than I would use peanut butter of flax(the best choice)
at all times except for post workout.
I try to avoid dairy products as much as I can
towards the end of my cuts.
