i weight train 3 nights a week, i do cardio every morning,30 mins.i weight train every body part once a week. i do gains but, would less cardio bring me more muscle gain?

i used to train 6 times a week, doing every body part twice a week, since i cut to once a week for every body part i gained bigtime size!

Yeah man you should cut the cardio to around 3 times a week but not on the same weight training day. That should help more muscle gains a little . Yes I am the first one to say this on your post proper nutrition is key for muscle gains, weight loss, etc.

how will cutting my morning cardio to 3 times a week, help me gain muscle mass?

because you're wasting up the energy.. carbs, sugars, and everything that you need to make good gains in your muscles by running for 30 minz on days that you lift.... maybe a 5-10 minute jog/walk if you aboslutelty have to run but thats just to get your blood pumpin a little bit... how old are you just curious?

continue to the the am cardio on non-weight training days. it will not hamper your goals of increasing LBM...

You've got the right idea working out 3x's a week, working each muscle group once a week, but if you wanna gain mass don't do cardio. Don't even walk up the steps anymore, take the elevator :thumb: :)

unfortunately I have to totally disagree w/ TJohn...cardio should never not be done, even for a ectomorph training to gain weight.

doing "mild" cardio improves the delievery of oxygen to skeletal muscle which has to many advantages to even list. mild cardio sessions while bulking can only help.

I know for me, I didn't start to put weight on till I quit all cardio but the down side was I didn't have any indurance for anything.

Scotty...where you doing long sessions of intense cardio or short mild sessions ?

I would run 8 km 3 or more times a week. Even if I ate like crazy I just couldn't get past 185, once I droped my cardio to almost none, I went up to over 210 over the next year.

all that running would definetly hamper weight gains....running is SO overrated !

It all depends on the person. Some people will not gain mass doing any kind of cardio at all while trying to bulk up no matter what body type. Experimentation is vital for results.

if doing cardio as i wake up in the morning, im just usinf fat as fuel, no carbs no nothing. how does that affect ur mass gain if ur eating constantly during the day?

It doesn't work that way, unfortunatly, fat isn't the preffered source for quick energy so if your doing high intensity cardio for a long period of time, you more likely going to be using some of the protein in your muscles for energy.

The body uses many sources for energy but never just one, it'll use the easiest to obtain and work down from there depending on the need (intensity).

As does regular squatting :)

To burn fat the heart rate target is not the same as true cardio, as well as I believe people usually go for longer periods to work into the fat store. 60-65% of maximal heart rate for your age sounds about right IIRC.

Since you cut to once a week for every bodypart you have
gained "bigtime size" why are you even asking this
question?

Touché TCD...;)

barbarian, i ma sking these question because maybe i would get even bigger if i cut the cardio

The only way you can get any bigger is by eating more!
And you are already gaining bigtime size with your current
work out! why even mess with it!

by gaining bigtime , i mean i've gotten from 190 pounds to 210 pounds in the last year. i have a tad ,i mean very little fat on me,i wish i could get tid of that without giving up my mass training, beach season is here, wanna look good for the girls!

If you only have a 'tad' of fat then it should be no problem to get rid of it. If you have more fat, like me, then its more of a long term goal (months) instead of a couple weeks.

is eating, say once a week junk or cake very bad? is it such an obstacle not enabling to get rid of little fat that i have? or is it that my fast metabolism will get rid of that bad fat quickly?

I think the only way to know for sure is to count, if your talking 6000 calories of cake I think your probably screwing up 2 weeks. If you have a fast metabolism though you might be one of those people that eats anything and just dumps it off. Flex Wheeler claimed to eat anything he wanted at any time, fast food etc

I condensed my usual 1 hour workout down to 30 mins yesterday, and my heart rate was up to 170. It was upper body.

Of course on my way home I almost vomited all over the place. What a rush.
Now that is mixing cardio and resistance training.
