Well I've battled more than my fair share of health troubles this year, and the shit just keeps piling up. I know it sounds ignorant, but I didn't have any of these health issues when I burger eating fat ass.

My stomach has been feeling a bit off lately, so I went in to my doc and he gave me the "complete" physical. Sure enough my stool was positive for blood. So now I've got a colonoscopy scheduled for tommorrow with my gastro specialist. Colon cancer and prostate cancer run in my family so of course I'm thinking the worst. The down side I'm 28 years old, so I think I'll be cancer free. Something has to be causing this though, and I need to get to the bottom of it.

I will report back soon, in the mean time back to drinking this nasty salt water shit to clean me out. :yell:

damn man that sucks i hope everything comes out ok for you

that so came out wrong..my bad but good luck with everything seriously

Well I had my appointment at Roto Router this morning at 8:15. I'm at home now and with reasonably good news to report. No cancer or polyps present, but he did take several "samples" of tissue to have biopsied. Answers are two weeks away, but I would say it was a very painless procedure.

Well, that sounds like a much better position that you were in before. At least there's nothing obvious like cancer.

I had a colonoscopy about 6 months ago (I'm 35). They don't really put you to sleep. They just give you some drugs to make you forget.

Well, about half way through I came out of the drugs enough to be conscious. I looked up at the monitor and asked, "Is that me?" The doctor said that it was. So I said, "Funny, I thought I'd be better looking on teevee." To which the doctor and the two nurses burst out laughing. They must have upped the dose of drugs because I went back under.

You do the right thing, good things happen. When you put it off they get worse. Glad you are ok bro

One time during one. The doctor said, "I'm not seeing anything(bad)." I knew what he meant. But I asked, "No corn kernels, sesame seeds or anything!?" The nurse held back a laugh and the doctor didn't say anything.

Yeah it was a weird deal, one minute we were talking and next thing I know I'm waking up in the room where I started. Kind of a weird deal.

Talked to my other doc today that did my physical and blood work. He tells me that my blood pressure is high (which we knew from the visit), and my fasting sugar is at 120. Testosterone was at 754 so at least the test shots did something. He's bitching at me about stress and what not, and he wants me to lose a little more weight (fat). So we're back at that deal. I've maintained where I'm at for six months and now its time to peel off the next layer.

Well its a late update since I've been on meds and trying different things for the past month. I have been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and have a slew of medicines to take. I'm confident that I can still maintain my current diet, but certain foods like beans, brocolli, and steak are hard for me digest and make me very bloated and uncomfortable. I sound like a midol commercial I know.

Either way I'm pushing on and training like mad. I started a new program last week and its like nothing I've ever done before. I've never been so spent in 15 reps in my life. Goal is 12% BF by the end of summer. :nail:

Keep on truckin bro You will be fine

Update on this whole ordeal too. I found out that the problem was an un-diagnosed problem effecting my digestion. I have colitis, which for me has been managable and easy to work with when I take my meds and keep the diet in order.

I have to avoid certain foods but having a game plan helps greatly. So no more bitchy posts about health. I'm amazed I didn't end up diabetic with how poor my health was and my bordering alcoholic tendency.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry I missed this earlier.

Have you had your thyroid tested? Hypothyroidism is often associated with high BP and blood sugar.

Also, have you been tested for Celiac?

I had a misdiagnosis of ulcerative colitis. The proper diagnosis was severe hyperthyroidism in conjunction with irritable bowel syndrome.

I was given Sulfasalazine for the colitis and nearly died from an unknown(at the time for me) allergy. I was in the hospital near death for weeks. It changed my life.

IMHO, learn everything you can, ask every question you can think of, and get a second opinion.

My thyroid was in check. The doc and I were both thinking thyroid from the get go, but the blood work showed otherwise.

Not sure on Celiac. I will have to look into that.

What was your free T4, free T3 and TSH?

Another thing to look at along with Celiac is urate levels. You ever had gout or kidney stones?

I've never had gout or kidney stones.

Off the top of my head I'm sure of my T3 and T4 levels off the top of my head.

This diagnosis is an honest six months old and I've felt much better since then

Thank goodness for that!
