So, I somehow inherited my mother's dancer ankles and am now a 6'4'' 250 lb 25 year old with essentially little girls ankles... I have broke them each twice as I grew up and i consistently sprain/strain them so those issues have also led to this but im at the point where i'm just fed up with the injuries

I have been looking around for better ways to improve my ankle strength and i'm wondering if anyone has some exercises they've seen/used to improve their ankle strength... I have really big and powerful legs/Quads and really developed/large calf muscles,

Any and all advice is appreciated, I really need this to not be an issue anymore

have a good one,

Rotate your foot, while pointing your toes as far as is comfortable, clockwise and counterclockwise. Repeat as needed. Flex and extend your foot.Point your toes down and up, repeatedly,

Get a Thera band and do plantar flexion, dorsa flexion, inversion and eversion exercises. Start slow and work your way up. Hope this helps.

This!
Plus, work on proprioception. Balancing on a bosu ball on one leg or balance board. Increase difficulty by shifting body weight and closing eyes. This teaches your ankle to detect movement better and strengthens stabilizing muscles.
I have 2 fractures and 11 sprains from basketball and have dramatically improved it.

I have found 1 legged squats will give you ankles like a damn farmer. My ankles felt amazing when I did them on the regular.

thanks folks, much appreciated the Thera band stretches have been very effective
