Yea you were and that was quite funny! You got a laugh out of me.
To be perfectly honest, it shouldnt matter where you work out. Like gr8, as long as the sounds are pumping and you can shut out the world, then you should be able to get a good workout anywhere, anytime. I travel a lot for work and so I get to workout in the crappiest hotel "fitness centers" (although they should be called "kids run around like crazy and try to break stuff centers." So I have learned to make due with what I've got at the time.
I used to workout at a 24 Hour, the worst thing of it was they were so packed that I could really only go from 12am-7am which made sleeping crappy, and I need lots of sleep.
When I first signed up there though I could go at 10PM which was fine.

I used my college's gym. The opening and closing time do not go with my schedule. I decided to join lesbian gym Total Bally. Too many women and all fat guys. No hardcore.

You right eskimo, make no mistake about it, I don't let things affect me while I am in there. I still train harder than most guys around no matter where I am. I am just bitching about it, thats all. I let nothing affect my focus and intensity.
Went to Golds Gym today for a visit. I asked if they ( the sales rep and then the potential trainer) what their thoughts were about online forums. They told me to stay clear of those online fitness guys because they were not qualified. Then they tried to sell me 6 training sessions for a lil over $300. Monthly rate to use the gym was $33 (if I pre-paid for the year) a month for the first year then $29 a month thereafter.
I currently go to a small local gym a few blocks away from my house, but I have been to Boston "Sports Club," Lifetime Fitness, and have checked out Bally's.
My small gym is closed on all minor and major holidays, and I had tried going to Lifetime Fitness and Bally's until I found out that unless your a member you have to be atleast 18 years old to be a guest.
I hate that shit, and I will forever be pissed off at Lifetime and Bally's for that.

I have no choice but to go to 24 hr fitness,it is the ONLY gym in my area,sucks balls all the way...I used to train at worlds before I moved,I am so used to training in whatever clothes i have,but 24 hr,people give me dirty looks when I trainin denim shorts or my scrubs,seems like everyone else is decked out in Nike or adidas work out suits,and all they do is casually walk on the treadmills,sippin their water......

I belonged to a Golds in the Philadelphia suburbs for two years. I left for three reasons, 1) It was too crowded and the owners would not put in new equipment so that you would not have to wait for things or have to work in with three people at peak hours 2) The gym had too much of a "mainstream mentality". The manager actually told me that I was too "serious" a trainer and that other members felt intimidated by me, and 3) the price was too high ( approaching $50 a month) for what I felt was a lackluster training experience.
I joined a start up club which went out of business in less than a year and then trained at Ballys for awhile because I had a long ago paid up lifetime membership for which I am not paying them a dime. Ballys is the absolute pits.
I recently joined an LA Fitness which is great. The gym is much bigger, there is some much equipment ( three benches, Smith Machines, power racks and most dumbbells) that you rarely have to wait for things and it costs only $35 a month.
I trained at a Golds in Miami on vacation last winter and it was another lackluster gym. They invested more money in the juice bar, karate studio and aerobics classes than in the free weight gym. I think Golds has bastardized itself into a mainstream fitness chain and I would recommend that any serious weight trainer try World Gym or LA before signing up at Golds.
