Almost every bodybuilder in on high protein diet and always for long term.

But what high protein content builders consume are almost always whey protein as opposed to high protein food with saturated & trans fats.

When i say high protein i do not refer to keto diets, but the daily intake of whey protein, which with compared to non bodybuilders is on high protein side.

I was wondering if there is any link between high protein diet and heart diseases.

Please post any relevant material that you have / know.

Thanks.

what makes you think this? most of my protein intake comes from real food with little to no saturated or trans fats, eg. egg whites, tuna, chicken, fish, cottage cheese, etc. red meat is probably the only source of protein i consume that contains saturated fats and in moderation i don't think is any concern. especially considering the rest of my diet is pretty spot on which as a result will more than likely prevent heart disease in my future.

not that I'm aware of. it's the higher saturated and trans fat diets that lead to increased cholesterol, plaque deposits on arterial walls and therefore heart disease.

Did you do any research at all before asking this?

Any bodybuilder with his/her salt gets the majority of their calories from real food. Stop reading magazines.

Yes i did some reading before asking this..... here are the links.
I was bit unsure about it so to be clear i asked.

All i want to know if it's OK to consume whey protein for long term thats all. I am not against any on, just want to clear my confusion.

Danzik i don' have any magazine to read, not a single one.

Please post your thoughts....

Fair enough. The high protein diets they are warning about are the ones the "average" person with no knowledge follows. Of course eating dozens of eggs, bacon, and mcdonalds patties are going to wreak havoc on your heart. The average person doesn't differentiate between good and bad fat or incomplete versus complete proteins.

A properly built and executed high protein or high fat diet will have no lasting effect on cardiovascular health. Eating lots of garbage because it's "low carb" will obviously lead to problems.

Also for the record, 2/3 of those articles are actually advocating against a high fat diet, not a high protein diet. They just assume that a lot of fat comes with all protein which simply is not true.

Ok, That Clears my confusion. I never intended to have debate on it, just so there's no confusion.

Thanks :)

There should be no problem with a high protein diet unless you have pre existing kidney issues.
