Just wondering with all these fat mobilizing products such as MM4, Ergolean MC, all transdermal Avant products, if their was anyway of telling besides the mirror and tape measure if your actively losing fat. More specifically, if were mobilizing or burning fat would we excrete the fat. If so, would our feces be harder, softer, larger etc.....

Ok, If you really dont know I will answer, Burning fat means just that, your body is really burning, useing it as energy, there for there is no fat being excreted though your feces, nor you pours, nor does it turn into muscle.

If you don't know the answer then please don't reply because you only make yourself look ignorant.
It is known that fat is excreted through the body (known as fecal fat) and their have been medical studies that some supplements (especially CLA) may increase the amount of fecal fat that is released. I've read in many studies that when fecal fat is being excreted that it's more on the greasy and smelly side (I know gross) but true. So please don't start trying to flame me boys when you have no idea.

I would imagine that there would be ketosis byproducts that any ketosis urine strip could detect. These can be picked up in GNC or at your Pharmacy. The problem I have found is that the fat burn only seems to be at high enough levels at certain times of the day to be detected positively.
We also probably have no way of effectively measuring "potential" fat burn that occurred when we had adipose tissue actually broken down and available in a form to burn/oxidized but activity was not high enough to use it and it reconverted back...

No problem bludevil. I was actually trying to conceptualize a device I could make and market that would give a very reliable indication as to if the body was in a catabolic or anabolic state at any moment of the day. The only problem was figuring out the human bio interface that would not be invasive and be something less severe than sticking a wire or sensor up a persons belly button or butt. Great idea until I get to that part of he problem...

So, do you want me to submit my resume to you know or after you invent the product so I too, can profit from your brilliant idea :D
I'd make a great CFO.

the ketone strips will only show a change if you are in ketosis and producing ketone bodies...this comes from an incomplete breakdown of fat seen on atkins type diets. Regular fat metabolism shouldnt show a change on these strips.

Indirectly you can take your body temperature when you first wake up...if it increases and stays eleveated consistently it is likely that you have increased your metabolic rate and are thus burning more calories.

Specifically fat....I dont know of any way to tell other than have your BF measured consistently to be sure that your lean mass is staying constant and your BF% is dropping.

The fecal fat idea is interesting but it can show up for a variety of reasons so I don't think it would be a good indicator.

It usually means mal-absorption of fat like with people taking Xenical....they end up having fatty stools or leaky ass syndrome.

My answer to this is simple...NO.

Ketone strips test for ketosis which you will only be in if your carbs are very very low and you're metabolizing protein and fat for energy...as mentioned above.

is that meaning if your pooh floats its full of fat?

Sorry....I just HAD too!

actually yes baby...if you have a "floater" it usually means there is a high fat content to your pooh...sometimes it can be due to other reasons as well...but as a rule of thumb...fat poop floats

everybody make sure to look to see if your pooh is floating!

Hmm, not sure all this poop flushes...

I also thought that floaters meant that your getting sufficient fiber ?
