Hey guys. I had a buddy of mine come into town and he was telling me about these versa gripps. I've never really been a fan of straps or gloves. But after this weekend when I tried to go really heavy on deadlifts, I realized I might want to give them a try. I felt like my back had more left in it but my hands couldn't hold the weight.

Everything that I have read says they are g2g. I've never used anything in the gym, even gloves so that's why im asking. Plus they are like $40. If you are/have used them which model do you have? Pro or regular?

There are two schools of thought about using grip enhancers. Some say you should build your grip until it can keep up with the weight you're pulling.

I'm of the other school in that I don't think my forearm muscles will EVER be as big and strong as my lats so I don't want to sacrifice lat developement just because my grip isn't strong enough. For that reason I use straps.

I can't comment on the Versa Gripps because I've never used them. But if you're really interested in straps I LOVE Scheik power lifting straps.

They're about half the price you mention for the Versa Gripps

Since i've never used them I figured I'd give them a try. The versa gripp's peak my interest because they can be used for almost anything. Pushing/Pulling and almost like gloves.

I forgot to update this thread. I was in my local supp shop the other day and I asked them about the Versa Grips. He had a whole display of Versa Gripps so I tried on a pair and ended up buying them. Skeptical at first I walked into the gym on back day and strapped them on.

It was deadlift time. So I loaded up 135 to warm up and feel out these things. I wrapped them around the bar and twisted it ever so much to get it tight on my wrists. I pulled the bar off the rack and could hold it by just keeping one finger on the versa gripps. It allowed me to rep 295 without worrying about my grip or anything else. You can also use them like gloves to pad your hands on any pushing exercise. I would reccomend them.

I'm with him, this becomes important if you have arthritis or the chance of it as well.

I have wanted to try versa grips for a while, good to hear there is another satisfied lifter.
