Are there any other Vegetarians/Vegans on the board? Anyone have suggestions for losing weight and being healthy as a Vegetarian?

You're a vegetarian? Is that a recent development?

Since last May, howya doing buddy?

Why'd you choose to be a veg?

I'm doing pretty damn good. I'm in the process of selling my house (it closes next Wednesday) for a very good profit. Plus, the new routine I'm doing has made my upper body explode.

How are you doing? You didn't seem to be doing that well the last time you were here?

Oh, and to answer your thread's question: We had a vegan here once, but she went insane. :)

What do you mean went? Because I think she was insane from the time she got here.

I actually tried being a vegaterian, but it didn't work out. I'd definitely check into what vitamins your body might need you are not getting from meat.

 No doubt!

I've read up on being a vegetarian, and there doesn't seem to be any long-term benefit from it. It seems that most people that do it either have digestion issues (which are aggravated by hard-to-digest foods like meat) or for ethical reasons. And some guys do because their girlfriends are.

So what sparked the change for you, Rocco?

If you do staying with a veg diet, you're going to need to take certain aminos and vitamins. Sorry, but I can't remember which. There is (at least) one amino that just isn't found in plant foods. Plus, it's hard to get certain other vitamins (and maybe minerals) in plant food. It's not that it can't be done, but you have to eat just the right ones.

Hey David

Are you a Vegan or a Vegetarian?

And hell no. We are omnivorous creatures.

Do you wear leather shoes/gloves/belts? And, how does that fit into your vegetarian/vegan philosophies? Hmm?... HMM?...

Cool, good luck with selling the house...and I'll need to check out your journal to see what routine your doing!

I'm back and forth...still have the depression thing. I'm on meds but we're still waiting to see how or if it'll work. :(

My story for becoming a vegetarian is kinda long...I can tell it if you want, I just want to make sure you really want to know before I type it out LOL.

I'm a vegetarian creeping towards veganism. Being a Vegan is pretty damn hard and takes a lot of knowledge I don't have lol.

So whats the dealio then?

You became a veggie? Wow, I would have never thought you would. The biggest long term effects is lack of protein. That can have long term effect on muscle repair but if you do it right, you shouldn't have a problem.

Hi David. I recently read some stuff about vegans, let me try to find it agin for you.
Me, I like meat, couldn't ever be a vegan myself!

I've noticed that when I eat a lot of vegetables, that my poo turns green. I don't believe this is due to any sort of vitamin deficiency. Is yours always green as well? (being serious here).

Are you a vegan because your body is allergic to meat or because of your beliefs? And I would think you are right about being a Vegan is hard work because you have to find sources of protein that are not animal based right?
