I notice most people here always strongly disagree with any of Arnolds opinions. While I may not agree with everything he's written he should have some credibilty he is just one of the best BB of all time. Just an example and please I don't want to offend anyone.

"Yes I understand. Arnold claimed in his book that dips would make them drop down further on his rib cage, obviously this is not true."

Im pro arnold i guess. Im a fan but i do my own thing in the gym or in the kitchen, i dont really directly follow in anyones footsteps. I take little bits from different books and structure my diet and workout to what works for me.

I agree with you, its just that no one ever agrees with his theories.

I???m pro Arnold

If it was not for Arnold there is no way BB would be as big as it is now.
BB has moved on and we are finding out more and better ways to build are body???s all the time.
Arnold was at the top for a long time and no one has don as much to promote BB before and after him.
SABRE said it do your own thing:p

I love Arnold. But do I practice his training and eating routines? No. That is just major overtraining. For someone who did as much steroids as he did and had no other job, that might be fine. But for us peons who work full-time jobs or go to school and are natural, we just can't do what he did and expect good results.

I love Arnold, however his advice is outdated and much of it geared towards someone with his bodytype, genetics and on drugs.

I would listen to his advice on anything except training. :)

ditto...

It's not his training advice i admire, it's his whole mentality. And particularly his focus. It's awe inspiring.

I honestly believe that somewhere in the back of his mind he has had his life planned out perfectly from day one. First dominate bodybuilding, then film, then politics. Whether he was a good actor, is a good politician or had his BBing events fixed is one (or three) thing, but i really don't give a shit, because it puts perspective on my life whether i try to imitate his mentality or not.

wish i was anti arnold i hear she is massive.

Anti-Arnold's refreshing, given the 24-7 reverence on some 'lifting sites.

On his training, I think his thinking was sound, perhaps it's only dated in that he was a volume trainer like many others of the era, so the sheer number of sets might devalue everything else as well looking at it now. Keep in mind that most of the training he espoused was also pre-contest, designed not to build but to refine and cut down from a higher bodyweight, so there'd be a higher number of sets.

On the person, equal parts interesting and creep.

Arnold had amazing genetics and started taking steroids at age 13. His training routines are not to be followed by your average natural bodybuilder. The problem is people try to mimic his routines, which is just asking for overtraining.

I'm not "anti Arnold", but I agree 100% with this statement. I was one of the fools who bought his book and followed his training advice back in the late 1980s. I know now why I never grew.

Incidentally, Arnold never admits to a training and tanning regimen, instead claims that training was squeezed in between studies and employment, since he was "just another imigrant" with no special advantages.

Arnold is Da Man! I agree that he has done alot for the sport, not to mention all the fitness programs he has induced into the schools.I know alot of people have seen his pictures and thought "I want to look like that",That gets the ball rolling,I do believe we all have diffrent body types and we respond diffrently,I wouldn't follow his routines, but I do give him Mad Props!

I am anti pompous blow hard think they know it all Mike Mentzer wanna be's. Dude...it is ok to put the Heavy Duty book down.

WEIDER:bow:

no one in this forum can anti-Arnold, just do whatever you want, but in the end Arnold is still the man.

ARNIE RULES!

from the moment i first saw him in T1 and T2 when i was a kid i was in AWE'

its like me and my friends at school used to never shut up about how cool he was and now he is my true idol i guess. hes a great role model without doubt one of the most successful men ever to live and i listen to everything he says. he is an extremely smart guy and probably the most self motivated person ever

From BB to his films to his politics, hes a great guy and an inspiration to all of us. I very much doubt i would be as hooked on BB if not for Arnie
