I do my sprints early in the morning, and I always see the local ROTC doing their workouts also. I recently watched a few of their workouts, which lasted around 45 minutes or so, and they did core work at least half of the time if not more, and in between they would do dead sprints lasting 2-3 minutes each. I was wondering what their rationale behind the hundreds of crunches they do per day? They did do planks and side planks which I agree is great core work, but according to most replys on core work, 100's of crunches don't do as much for one as leg lifts, and planks, and obviously core lifts in the weight room (squats, bench, etc). Are crunches in between say an HIIT workout ideal?
