Ive noticed that I respond much better to higher reps when doing back and legs exercises (excluding deadlifts)

for legs and back I do 10-12 reps, usually 3-4 sets of each exercise.

for chest, biceps & triceps I usually do around 6-8 reps and I think they respond best to this rep range

have you noticed sth like this on your workouts?

Higher reps have always worked better for me! 8-12 for most bodyparts, 15-20 for delts and quads!

true for many people ..the bigger the muscle the more reps you need...for example legs would respond better for higher reps than biceps.
If you have lots of years of training sometimes you don't need too many reps...it varies from person to person. In my training i vary a lot:
biceps triceps shoulders:6-12 reps
chest: 6-15
back: 8-15
legs-8-15

with higher reps all you are doing is basically increasing the total time under tension (TUT). in terms of stimulating hypertrophy a longer TUT is more efficient than a shorter TUT along with utilizing heavy eccentric training.

the legs and back are also the 2 largest muscle groups which means they can handle the highest amount of volume as compared to the other many much smaller muscles.
