Barbell Rows -- Proper Form

Really? Could you elaborate on that cause I've never felt any unusual stress on my biceps during these, although I don't go real heavy. Try to use slow movement and strict form. I'd actually think my biceps would be more at risk for injury during a DL.

I equate that to saying you can use terrible form on a squat because you're using light weights and can't possibly hurt yourself. You might not hurt yourself, but it's not a good idea.

goodfella, I agree. I usually will use both grips. It seems to me that if you feel strain in your tendons, you may be lifting too heavy or need to use wraps.

But how is a supinated grip on a BB row terrible form? It's 45 degrees away from the grip I use during a bent over DB row.

If it's 45 degrees away it's not the same grip now is it? DB Rows are also (generally) lighter than BB rows. If you want, ask someone more knowledgeable about it and they would be able to give you better reasoning and exact risks.

Right on. I appreciate you pointing it out at least. I like to workout safe and I never knew a reverse grip bb row was dangerous.

Anyone else have thoughts on it?

I know it's not the same grip, but it's the same movement. And the grip mimmicks a hammer curl, whereas a reverse grip would be a normal curl and overhand grip would be a reverse grip curl. And it's just hard for me to picture it being dangerous using a supinated vs. pronated grip when the back is the focus and the biceps are more stabilizing.
