Basamiti Rice

Anyone ever try brown basamiti rice? I bought it and cooked it in my rice cooker-smelled like popcorn, and has a great nutty flavor-much better than reg brown rice. Jmo

Yeah brown basmati rice is at least 20 times better than regular brown rice. Try mixing it with wild rice for a real treat, throw a few cinnamon sticks in there

I was upstairs while it was cooking downstairs-I forgot it was even cooking. I was so pissed cause I thought one of the neighbours was cooking microwave popcorn!! (even though I live in a house??) It smelled sooooooo good. Then I went down stairs and realized it was my rice cooking!Its kinda chewey too, I like that.

Yeah if you wanna make it smell even better take my suggestion and throw in some cinnamon....I even throw in a bay leaf and some pandan leaves sometimes

basmati rice is all I use. that stuff tastes great and has a great aroma

My mom uses Basmati rice everyday.. she adds in some chicken broth

I tried it, tasted and smelled the same as my regular brown rice...

maybe the food store ripped me off, though the grains do look different than my brown rice...maybe the garlic I put in it overwhelms the natural smell and flavor...I'll try it without next time

I was cooking thai fragrant brown rice last nite and it smelled delish too! It was exactly like popcorn... then I thought of you Jill!
