Is beef jerky good for a protein supplement. It is loaded with protien and has virtually no fat?

Beef jerky is one of God's gifts to mankind.

thanks a lot fellows, i eat beef jerky all the time

...what exaclty is beef jerky?
I hear it mentioned on American TV all the time but it doesn't exist on this side of the world (or at least in my country).
Someone care to do the honours? Cheers :thumb:

You ain't from around here, are ya son?
Basically, strips of lean beef that have been marinaded or seasoned with a dry rub, then dried or otherwise dehydrated to cure the meat.Trouble is, most jerky is high in sodium, which as we know can cause water retention, or worse yet, hypertension. You can, however, make your own. At, least I have. Used to live off of the stuff during trail rides. There are about a million recipes on-line, or if you feel adventureous, you can ingest what's available on the market. Happy Trails.:wave2:

any of you seen those chicken strips by Tyson foods ? I haven't tried them yet

Hehe, what makes you think that? :D :p
Thanks :)

Well the fact that you used the phrase "American TV" was the first clue, and this was verified by the "Location: Malta" under your avatar.
Lam brought up a good point. "Jerky" isn't just limited to beef.:thumb:

JL's is excellent jerky. The salt/sodium justs puffs me up like aunt Thelma...then again, I'm currently kinda puffed up anyway.

Tank316...I'm glad you said it was good. I'll pick some up this weekend and look for that other brand also
