I absolutely love my steak. Sometimes while bulking I eat I eat it 2-3 times a day. I'm cutting right now and I still include steak in one of my meals. I get a great deal on prime top sirloin, so heres my question. They said that 3 oz of top sirloin have about 13 grams of fat. I cut almost every little piece of visible fat off of the sirloin so to me it looks just like lean meat. I even cut open the inside to see if any is marbled and it looks just like pure lean meat to me. This might sound stupid but if I cut all of the visible fat off of the steak, do you think that will make it lean enough to be under 5 grams per 3 oz? Or is there fat in steaks such as these that you cant really see. I know this sounds really stupid but it's really bothering me and I figured this would be the best place to ask it. I figure I'm making the meat really lean by cutting off all of the visible fat but I just want somebody elses opinion.

Search the USDA Nutrient Database for Top Sirloin.

They have two answers. One of the produces a result
of 4.92 gm, and the other 8.22 gm per 3 oz.

I'd then conclude that their average is 6.57 gm.
Sounds it is almost lean enough to be under 5 gm
per 3 oz. I would say that it is close enough.

I ♥ steak.
