Best way to cut an amp-without an amp cutter?

Guys, I have a 12 week supply of sust that is burning a hole through my gear bag. I need to get on this shit again but I lost my amp cutter and don't feal like getting a new one for now. Is there any other way besides using a fine tooth knife or getting shards of glass in my needle to open my amp without the cutter? Maybe a realy fine file than use the ole twist and snap method?

a file should work fine. I would wrap the amp in something when breaking just in case, you don't want to get cut...

I've heard of someone using a fine triangle file to score around the amp then use the cap of a BIC pen to put over the top of the amp and snap it off. I have never had to open an amp yet but if I didn't have an amp opener I would give this method a shot.

I just use an alcohol pad to clean the neck, the use it to protect my thumb as I apply increasing gentle pressure until it pops open.

never failed, ever since the first time I ever tried... try it, easy does it.

And you have never broken the amp or gotton glass in your gear? Do you even score the outside of the gear or do you just wipe it with the cloth and snap it open?

repoj, just wipe it with the pad to clean any bacteria, and then snap it open. just increase the pressure gently, when it is just enough it will just pop open. never broken an amp, gotten glass on the gear or cut myself... and so far I must have open upwards of 30 amps...
