Big Legs... need advice plz

Hi. I've got really big big legs (thighs) and I was wondering what I could do to shrink them?

I know I'm overweight right now, but when I was at my ideal weight, my thighs each were 23 inches around (almost 2 feet!).

My thighs used to look "normal" until I started wrestling in high school. I mean they were somewhat big but in high school they got HUGE!

Ever since high school when I started wrestling, I've had BIG thighs and I've haven't been able to shrink them. In 9th grade I could squat 450 lbs 10 times no problem so my legs aren't all fat.

Wrestling really got my legs big. I've always been ashamed at how BIG my thighs were compared to other people. Is there anything I can do to shrink my thighs?

I talked to multiple doctors in High School about my big thighs and how I could shrink them and all I've been told is that they really won't shrink because it was mostly muscle.

Now I'm wondering, since you guys/gals are experts, is there a way to shrink your thighs? As it is right now, my body shape is mostly like a pear. I mean I'm way overweight right now, but my legs are still the biggest part of my body.

Anyone know any good excersises or anything else that could help shrink my thighs?

And a question to the ladies here, what do you think of big thighs on a guy? Do you think its attractive? Repulsive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

First of all how much bodyfat are you carrying and how tall are you?
23" is not that big, mine are over 25" (cold, no pump) and I am around 5' 6".

If you get lean and do a lot of cardio, e.g. running, and only do high rep work-outs on your legs, e.g. 20 rep sets, they will shrink.

Thats the honest to goodness truth, I've got strong legs :)

Almost broke the school record too... I was on track to break it until I got a spine infection my senior year (had 5 surgeries and my spine scraped. Took 6 years to heal and had an open wood for 5 years on my lower back... long story I don't want to get into :( )

We'll, when that measurment was taken, I was at 210 lbs and at 16% body fat (so about 33.6 lbs of fat). I was 6 feet tall at the time (still am).

Right now, I'm at 260 lbs, 33% body fat, and thighs are each 29 inches around (each).
 
Big Legs Keep those suckers its hard as hell to getJust keep them and get all the other bodyparts to catch up.

Also unless you were around 275+ I dont see a 450x10 reps on squat at age 15/16
 
Yeah at 33% bf you should go on a cutting diet. That way you will lose fat not muscle.
 
bigss75, whats a cutting diet?

I'm on a plain old diet right now. Cutting my intake and weight lifting combined with cardio. Is that the same thing?

Well, you just answered your own question.

If your legs were 23" at 210lbs, 16% bf at 6 feet tall, that is not very big. And you say now they're 29" and you're at 33% bf, you are obviously carrying quite a bit of fat in your legs. Some males tend to carry bf in their legs, typically we carry it in our mid sections, and females typically carry fat in their thighs.

So you need to get lean as I said in my first reply, from what you have told me you probably need to get below 200lbs to get your legs to an acceptable size (for you).
 
I don't mind having "Big Legs"...it's the friggin' chaffing and bald spots that bug me! :lol:


Now, my associate WARLORD has 31" thighs"........trouble with that, in WARLORD's own words...."Nothing looks big next to a 31" Thigh! :laugh:

I'm suprised you're saying 23" each is not that big. I guess my problem must be psychological (Yikes!:eek: ).

You're 100% right about carying most of my body fat in my legs. I look like a pear right now :( .

But I'm finally getting back to working out and dieting so hopefully I'll be back in shape in no time.

The chaffing that is... I can live with the bald spots.

It's all relative.

A ripped 23" thigh on someone that is 5' 2" would be huge.

But at 6' it's not that big, especially if there is still fat on it.

As I said, mine are over 25" and I am 6" shorter than you, and my legs tend to stay lean, I carry bodyfat in my upper body.

Damn you must think my legs are huge then.

I'm only 5'1" and my thighs are 20.5"

They don't look big to me.
