BIS - US Finacial Sector 3 Quadrillion in transactions in 2010 - Pays $0 in taxes

I am a big supporter if the idea of a transaction tax, as long as all other taxes are dropped. This way the person is in control of their finances. As far as all the excise taxes, tariffs, and other taxes BUILT INTO THE COST of the products as well as income taxes being dropped...we have a better chance of walking on the surface of the sun then that happening. The only real power politicians have is the ability to use other people's to advance their careers and buy votes. And they will never let that power go.

there would be no reason to drop the other taxes as it stands right now the financial sector is getting special treatment when all the data shows that sector has nothing except a negative effect on the real economy at this point.

a financial transaction tax of only .001% would pay for all entitlements easily every year. the notion of a "tax free" society doesn't fit into any economic model. all transaction need to be taxed it's what done with the money that needs to change. like stopping subsidy to big oil, to big to fail banks, etc. and use those monies for productive projects like education, infrastructure, etc.

removing all taxes would be the biggest gift in the world to high income individuals, it would not make things better it would make them much, much worst.
