Thanks to everyone for all the help and responses, good or bad, they are appreciated and taken with care.

I have a dilemma and need to get your feedback so I can pound the info into my training partners head.

My buddy and myself have a heavy social nightlife and when we went on gear I explained to him the implications of booze and late nights on a regular exercise routine let alone one with ???gear??? included. He was very receptive the first week and a half but he is beginning to pull late nights more often.

I have explained the basic premise of alcohol on the system in combination with exercise and how taxing it is several times but I think if it comes from more experienced people it may help a bit.

Also in my own lack of knowledge: im curious if alcohol has larger consequences when on gear.

He is very receptive to responses I have got from this site and I am also curious as to the added role alcohol plays when using gear and exercising (if any at all) so any information and advice would be appreciated

Thanks a lot

personally I don't beleive in drinking and doing gear at the same time. We work hard to better our bodies. and booze puts excess strain on our liver and increases the risk for heart disease and such. So why do both. I would say choose one or the other. I have a freind the same way he says he drinks because everyone else does and thats stupid. I can have fun and get laid anytime without booze. I have never been the drinking type

I believe alcohol also plays a negative roll in protein synthesis (ie. your body is not able to absorb the amount of protein that it otherwise could), someone correct me if i'm wrong.

In my opinion, a couple of beers isn't going to hurt anyone.

Late nights can be counterproductive, as your body needs time to grow and can only do this with adequate sleep and rest. So, in order to maximize potential gains, you need rest.

correct. alcohol slows protein synthesis for the next 24 hours or so.

Yeah. And if you gotta do something then smoke weed, especially when you're bulking, cause you can eat a shitload. It's not really healthy but it's not as bad for you as alcohol, and it doesn't really do anything to your liver like gear and alcohol do. Stick to the sticky green :thumb:

that does pose another good question though! does weed effect the process of steroids at all?
and in repsonse to the repsonses so far: i understand the negetive effects alcohol plays with protein synthesis, but does it effect steroids in the system at all.
thanks for the info

Dude if you're on gear, especially orals, your really playing with your liver, so adding alchol to that is just a really bad idea, and the more you drink the harder it gets on your liver.

much worse than that. muscle protein synthesis (MPS) comes to a complete stop after the intake of several ounces of alcohol. a heavy night of drinking can shut down anabolism for days. plus regular alcohol consumption has a large effect on the resting BP. combine that with certain steroids and it's an "accident" waiting to happen...

choose one or the other, booze or gear but not booth...if you are serious about getting the maximum benefits of using AAS and using them safely there is no place for regular alcohol consumption...
