Was just wondering if anyone here has had this problem and what their experience was. Im just getting really discouraged now after having constant pain for months and not being able to even to a ???real??? workout. Here???s what I???ve been doing:

Dips- 4x Failure
Pull Up- 4x Failure
Seated DB Curl- 4x8

Is there anything else I can do that wouldn???t put stress on my back? :(

Some years ago while squatting I copped what I think was a protruded disc. I never saw a doc about it but I was sure that's what it was. I laid off the weights altogether for about 6 weeks and kept my back as immobile as possible much of the time. After that I eased back into it, squatting as before but changed 2 things from that point on:

1. Squatted ATF instead of 'parallel'.
2. NEVER tried to go too heavy too soon.

Anyway, can't ever be sure that's what my back problem was but if that's what you've got you'll need time to let the disc go back.

Did you lose any gains you made when you stopped lifting weights? Also whats atf?

Oh yeah I lost gains (sorry to say that). Actually not too much in size but lost strength. Wasn't too bad anyway cause I need to start light again. However I came back stronger afterwards.

ATF is Ass To Floor which feel more natural too me now than stopping half way down.
Have you taken time off from all training for a while?

I thought thats what ATF meant, but I thought that put more stress on your back than going parralel. I haven???t taken a break from training since about June or July when I took a few weeks off for family vacation.

I've experienced bulging disks at least two times; the first time required surgery and the second resulted in a drop foot. With the latter instance, my left leg atrophied to approximately 50% of its normal size. I used a physical therapy program that my brother (a physician) and I developed to regain size and strength in that leg, although I still have to wear a leg brace because of the drop foot.

what is drop foot ?

Drop foot neuropothy is when you loose the ability to Dorsi flex youre foot (neurological problem). A frined of mine had it when he came out of a 4 week coma from being bed ridden for so long. Months of physical therapy until he could walk again.
