Here's the real whopper: Burger King unveils the 1160-calorie Meat Monster
By Daniel Bates

It contains more salt than four bags of crisps and will take you two hours to jog it off - but you’ll definitely be full afterwards.

Burger King's newest invention is the ‘Meat Monster’, a burger which clocks in at a gut-busting 1160 calories

It is made up of two hamburgers, a chicken breast fillet, two slices of processed cheese, three rashers of bacon and all the trimmings served between two white baps.
Monstrous creation: Burger King's latest offering includes two hamburgers, a chicken fillet and bacon - and weighs in at 1160 calories

But if you are salivating at the prospect, the bad news is the Meat Monster has only been launched in Japan, for now at least - at a cost of 820 yen, or $9.79.

If it makes its way over here - and assuming you can fit your mouth around it - you’ll ingest 24g of saturated fat, 13g of sugar and 1.5g of trans fat.

The 1160 calories make up more than half the entire daily allowance for a woman, while the 2290mg sodium content is also far above the 1,600mg limit for adults.

Burger King unveiled the meal as part of its ‘Have It Your Way’ campaign to encourage people to make a la carte additions to their Whoppers.

Customers have the option to add in even more layers if they want to ‘personalise’ the meal further - and make it even unhealthier.
WEIGH-IN: HOW THE MEAT MONSTER COMPARES

The Meat Monster: 1160 calories
BK Whopper: 670 calories
BK Triple Whopper: 1140 calories
McDonald's Big Mac: 490 calories
McDonald's double 1/4lb with cheese: 740 calories
Wendy's 1/4lb single: 550 calories
Wendy's 1/4lb triple: 1030 calories
KFC Honey BBQ sandwich: 320 calories
KFC Double Down sandwich: 610 calories

True devotees could add teriyaki sauce, an egg and even a fish patty.

American customers can take comfort from the ‘Pizza Burger’ which Burger King has already launched at its flagship store in New York.

The creation is made up of four Whopper burgers topped with pepperoni, mozzarella and Tuscan Pesto and marina sauce, all stacked on a nine-and-a-half inch sesame seed bun.

It is cut into six slices, so that it looks and feels like a pizza - and clocks in at a staggering 2,520 calories.

If that’s not enough, then the 3,780mg of sodium will leave your heart gasping for air and your arteries creaking with fear.

And if you're a traditionalist, you can almost rack up the same number of calories as the Meat Monster with a Triple Whopper, which weighs in at 1140 calories.

I count a chicken, a cow and a pig. All they need is to add a horse and you'll have a venerable barn yard...

remove the mayo, bacon and onions and it looks pretty good! :lick:

How much is it? If it's not too much, it wouldn't hurt to buy it (sans mayo and cheese) and toss the bun. You'd have a great source of protein at, hopefully, a cheap price.

Agreed, DOMS. Remove the buns and you're eating a shit ton of protein for the price of a sugary, protein bar.

Nice!

And, depending on your caloric intake, it could even be two meals.

This is true. I see this being helpful come bulk time next winter, just in time for it's arrival from the radioactive lands of Japan.

I love the 970 calorie bacon cheese burger from 5 guys. A once a month treat.

It's only been released in Japan, thats like 2 whole days meal for a Japanese person, at least they cut it in 6ths for them....maybe they are targeting the Sumo population, I don't get the marketing to Japan first at all......

Sad thing is, or....realistic thing is....it's not even worth eating the 1,000 calories.

We all know lots of meals with far fewer calories that are far more enjoyable and delicious to eat.

i may just make one of those on the grill this weekend?
only problem is tomatoes aren't in season yet, so will have to deal with store boughts, but other than that mine will be way better!! and mine may even look like that when i am done, you know theres will look nothing like that when you order it!!

IMO, Burger King is disgusting, fuck flame broiling. not sure what is going on with that company but I have seen signs at places saying not to cash paychecks of BK employees but maybe its just a Vegas market thing.

That's probably because someone passed off some bogus BK checks. If it happens a few times, the casinos will stop cashing checks for a given company.

Know what looks amazing put out by a fast food joint right now?
