For those of you who've read this, have you found that the equations used to calculate your maintenance level calories are fairly accurate or no?
 
The reason I ask is because it puts my maintenance level at over 2600, and that seems very high to me. I don't know if that's because I've screwed up my metabolism from years of dieting or if the formula is quite off in general.
 
You've screwed up your perspective with years of dieting. Most women think they should eat far less than they do. And of course, if they're "watching calories" and eating far less, their metabolic rate slows to match. Men think they can stuff down anything and not gain, women are afraid of food and starve themselves.

However, I agree, it is a starting point. You'll need to find out where you're actually at, and work from there.
 
run it for a week or 2 then adjust acordingly. Dieting is not rocket science. Every ones bodys are different. All of factors are going to affect ones success to reaching their goal
