i have been a longtime user of caffeine, not huge amounts maybe 3-400 mgs a day..200 mgs before workout but within the past year or so i began noticing that i was tired all the time..i seemed to be constantly on edge, unable to just relax..sure, after dosing caffeine i felt amped up and was more focusd on lifting and seemed to have more intense workouts..problem is, i would crash and then feel just awful, sleepy and just irritable..so i went cold turkey and quit caffeine 6 days ago and so far i feel better, much more calm, my energy levels are much more constant, not the ups and extreme downs with caff..my endurance is also better now but i dont seem to be as strong as when i was on caffeine..plus, it takes longer to get into a workout...

im just curious how many of you have stopped caffeine and did you feel better off of it?how many still use it for its strength/focus benefits??

It is fine however it sounds like your CNS may have needed a break. You may want to also look into some SouthLand Performance Revamp (60 caps) it is made to restore your adrenals, so that when you do take any stims it will be like your first time again and you wont need to use as much.

Caffeine is considered a recreational drug in some circles. For every up, there must be a down. I can't say I've ever "gone off" of caffeine, but I do try and limit it. I normally have 1 cup of tea or coffee to start my work day and a low dose preworkout.

How does your diet look otherwise? You could be lacking in something that is dragging you down. Could be stress, maybe you just aren't getting enough sleep. Your symptoms could be caused by any huge number of things.

I think if you're having caffeine up to 300-400mgs in anhydrous tablet form -
then you're probably going to be building up a resistance to the drug,

You should also be aware that long-term caffeine dosing can lead to bone calcium-depletion.
Not sure what the efficacy of that is, but obviously with ANY stimulant - you need to allow the adrenal glands and receptors in your body to recover.

Maybe like others have said, have a cup of coffee when you wake up, then some caffeine about 45minutes before you train?

I find proplus and other tablets give me the shakes - I get really pumped but my heart goes alot -
so I take GREEN TEA which is a "softer" form of caffeine, it also helps you burn fat more readily as it's a thermogenic! :)

so far im very happy that i gave up caffeine.i definitely think it was the main problem behind my lethargy and sleepiness..my endurance is better as well..the best thing is my vitality, something that caffeine used to increase but destroyed in the end, is coming back..

problem is, like many others, my sleep just isnt where it should be..without caffeine i have to listen to my body more and take it easy when im tired and thats very difficult when it comes to working and working out..

caffeine in excess is not good at all .. i remember back in the university i was involved in some caffeine experiment to determine if it improves reflex and response etc..i don't remember what exactly was the aim of the experiment but i was a voluntary subject ...but i remember that they could not conclude any benefits for caffeine in improving reflexes and responses in fact taken at high doses it was detrimental.
i don't think it helps in the gym either as far as energy level... you feel more energetic for a while but then the effects go down quickly and you feel tired afterwards.
and it could be addictive.
i guess one cup of coffee is good

I use to drink loads of coffee in my late teens and early 20s, 3 to 5 cups throughout the day. I never intended to quit but one day I got extremely sick from what I think was a really bad batch of espresso coffee to the point where I couldn't stand the smell of coffee for a week so I quit cold turkey. Since I was so use to caffeine first week was absolute hell. Constant headache and foggy feeling, inability to concentrate, felt like I was sleep walking for a few days but after about a week I started feeling better and within two weeks withdrawal symptoms were completely gone. I also quickly realized I now feel much better than the days I use to drink coffee. I woke up full of energy rather than a zombie unable to fully wake up until I get my caffeine fix. I also found that I had constant energy throughout the day rather than a yo yo feeling I would get from coffee fixes. I also noticed improvement in sleep. So all in all I was glad I was done with coffee and stayed caffeine free for 6 months. Unfortunately finals started in last year of uni and I had no choice but to rely on that caffeine fix for those study all nighties, so back I went to coffee and have been drinking it in moderation for the past five years since.

does caffeine make you stronger though?in my case, most of my lifts have gone down a little..im not sure if it is that i am mentally not as focused/confident without the cafeine or what..caffeine is banned in the olympics so im sure it has some performance enhancing effects..i do feel faster and more explosive on caffeine but whether i just feel that way or truly am faster on it, its hard to say..

it is only mental ...in the olympics caffeine is banned not because it has performance enhancing effects but because it is used to mask the results of steroids testing making them confusing.

This. Long term use of caffeine will eventually wear your adrenals down and the result of adrenal fatigue is constant lethargy. Take a break from stims for 3-4 weeks before you consider going back on them or shorten that time with Revamp as Kleen suggested.

I only drink caffeinated coffee before a workout or work for a boost of energy . I actually prefer energy drinks that have caffeine like Nano Vapor and NO-E xplode because Iv'e never been crazy about the taste except for espresso. I can't understand how people drink this all day and still sleep normally . Overall , it's good for energy and working up a good sweat at the gym . Just be sure to drink plenty of water since caffeine can act like a diuretic .

Caffiene def has it benefits. But just like the others, one can take to much normally at one given time. 200mg should be the most anyone takes at one time nothing more imo. Combine it with some bronkaid and aspirin makes one heck of ECA stack.

I use to be a big caffeine drinker, and had to quit because I to was up and down all the time. When I got off of it I got headaches and stuff, but they eventually went away. A little caffeine however is good for you. When you take a lot of caffeine you body becomes immune to it so it doesnt have the same effect on you.

Kleen your right about the Southland Revamp. That stuff works. I tried a month of it while back and my coffee started to have me wired.
