Do you EVEN FUQQING care?
Can you give me some examples of calorie dense foods to eat? I think I'm ok with managing protien, carbs, fat; but I can never seem to get enough calories. :(

Thanks :D

*sigh* you frustrate the hell out of me.

You're already eating what you need to....but you really need to just eat more...I know you're not getting 6 meals in everyday. Last night....you could have, should have, had a shake before bed.

Calorie dense foods...nuts, you're already nuts, I mean...already eating enough of them :finger: Someone's gonna suggest pasta...don't go there! What you need to do is add at least another shake right before bed w/ fat in it....how much flax do you get in a day? Add a tbsp to every shake...in addition to the cream or milk or whatever else you add...how many shakes do you get a day...one, two?

Eat lots and lots of pasta :D

Whole eggs

Whole milk, put some protein in it.

Nuts, peanut butter. I get the natural peanut butter.

Steak (bulking is so much fun)

w8 is going to cringe when she sees this but on the weekends I have 6 whole eggs, 2 wheat biscuits, and bacon for breakfast.

When I bulk I just try and consume the same things that I eat when I am cutting, I just eat much more of them. That I way I have a better chance of adding more muscle and less fat. Adding fat scares she sh*t out of me.

Nuts are probably the most calorie dense food I can think of. 1 cup is about 800-1000 kcals.

Flax in your shakes will help too. :)

you know what foods are pretty calorie dense? I'll take liberty to make up a list of my favorite calorie dense foods.

-Ben and Jerry's - Half Baked, Chunky Monkey are good
-Pasta
-Pizza
-Pasta
-Chinese Food
-Pasta
-Candy Corn
-Pasta
-Twizzlers
-Pasta

Last but not least, thank you to my friend Pat who gave me this idea, Pasta with sweet italian sausage!!

Oh yeah, no need to thank me, i'm glad to help any time :D

On a serious note however, just something i don't understand. How are you able to get enough proteins/carbs/fats but not enough calories, getting enough of one sort of implies that you are getting enough of the other.

Well, you can get enough EFA's w/o excess calories.

I guess I wasn't getting enough protien and fats. I thought I was, but apparently after further bitching out by w8lifter....I'm not.:laugh:

LOL! Living with your personal trainer's gotta be fun!

I find it easier to get as many shakes as I need if I just keep 4 different flavours of them around.. that way I don't get sick of them as easily.

As for the fats, flax is awesome! Either add it to the shakes like the boss says, or you can get 3g pills for just as cheap.

You're
  • Living with your PT
  • having your PT do all the shopping
  • Having personalised plans & training
Rob, Why aren't you 250 yet ?

Plus, you get to fondle your PT .. that's gotta be worth something .. :D

the only foods that are calorie dense are those high in fat(s)...you can make any meal calorie dense by simple increasing the sizes of portions and/or increasing the fat content of the meal
