Calories in beer?

I have a couple beers a week/every other week. Helps me relax after a horrible day @ work.
 
Beer is also great for cleansing the body of bad cholesterol. The molecules of either the barley or hops (can't remember which) has very jagged edges and latches onto bad cholesterol as they travel throughout the blood stream, eventually winding up in the bladder. And we all know where it goes from there..!
 
Can anyone back this up? I can't believe that every alcohol calorie is stored and not used.
 
FAT STORAGE
Alcohol has seven calories per gram. Fat has nine calories per gram. Alcohol is stored much like fat in the body. Also, alcohol deaminates (destroys) amino acids and stores them as fat. Alcohol consumption, therefore, increases fat storage and adversely effects body composition (increase % body fat). Powerful energy pathways (like glycolysis) are impaired and large amounts of lactic acid are produced, this results in decreased energy, decreased muscle recovery, and increased muscle soreness. Also, alcohol is usually consumed in addition to the person???s normal food intake. Since alcohol has seven calories per gram these extra calories can add up really fast increasing the persons bodyweight and percent body fat..
 
If you drink moderately, no more than 2-3 drinks per week, you should be OK, but if you are a heavy drinker, you will never improve your physique. Understand that alcohol is poison toxin.

i do want to say....

it really dehydrates me and gives me immediate riptness if its not carbonated, good for those pool parties

and its sweet when you get alc poisening, all that dry heaving the next day is a killer ab workout.
 
I have been on a pleatue for months now and last sunday had my last beer for a couple of months I have already lost 5 lbs. this is from drinking 10 drinks a week previous to stopping. Any diet book you read wil tell you that alcohol stores as fat.
 
I love Amstel Light. It's the best tasting light beer. It's the only light beer with that nice real hoppiness to it. Sometimes, it can even fool me :)
The upside to not drinking regularly is that two beers leave me highly buzzed. I love being a cheap drunk. It beats drinking whiskey by the glassful. Go Amstel! I love beer. hehe...and pizza
...and more pizza with real beer...
..and guinness..
