I've been bulking for about 3 months. I weight 183 pounds and I'm not nearly as big as I want to be but I have way too much body fat so I'm going to try to start cutting. I plan on cutting calories and starting a running program for cardio. I've been using creatine and have put on some muscle mass. I figure I have 2 weeks worth left before I am out and can start cutting. Do you guys think I should continue lifting the same while I cut and if I lift light will I lose strength? For example, I have worked up my bench press from about a 160 lb ORM to a 260 lb ORM since last fall. I'm just worried about losing all that strength that I worked so hard for if I lose weight. Thanks.
 
I would continue to lift as heavy as possible. you may want to look into carb cycling so you can train your big bodyparts around the high-medium carb days.
 
yeah, i think his question, like mine, which I don't think anyone has ever answered is; can you cut a decent amount without losing significant LBM?
 
Depends on where you are in your training...
 
imho i dont think it is possible to achieve both you will bulk to gain lbm but when cutting you will loose some weight in the form of mainly bodyfat, as cutting involves a diet restriction maybe 500 kcals less and alot of cardio you will loose some weight but will still keep a majority of what you gained its not as if you loose the same or more weight than you gained other wise you wouldnt get anywhere, it just takes alot of time and effort to be massive and well cut

Hey man...you don't have much body fat at all. You've got a ways to go before you're truly "bulked" IMO. Just try to stay healthy and stick to clean carbs.
 
yeah well I was sucking in my gut for the pic. And this is really my favorite bible quote. If you look closely you can see it tatooed on my rt shoulder. I'm not nearly as bulked as I want to be but I need to start slimming down a bit for military training this summer where cardiovascular endurance will be important. Thanks for all the feedback guys

from a female (non Muscle pro) standpoint...U look good 2 me. ;) Pecs look Great! Obliques...trimmed & defined..maybe go up 1 more notch for an A+ mark! Biceps and Shoulders...looks cut and looks good. Is it me or could you go down a size (a wee bit?) in those 2 areas to proportion the Chest area? :shrug:
