I'm forcing myself to take next week off before my next cycle. It's been a good 3-4 months since a break. I don't want to, but I keep reading threads like this that say its worth it, so I'll try it!

You'll appreciate it when the little aches and pains are gone and start to look forward to it.
 
No way I'm taking a week off. If I feel signs of overtraining I might take a couple extra rest days, but never more than 3 in a row. And even on my rest days I'm in the gym doing abs/calves/cardio. Maybe you guys are on to something though...I haven't gained a pound since I finished my first cycle :pissed:

This isn't rest, my friend. This is food. You're eating at maintenance but expecting to make gains. Thermodynamics is a bitch.

De-loads are under-utilised IMO, specifically for us natty's.

I like to give it everything I've got when training, but I can't keep this up from more than 5-6 weeks. So I take a week off, keep my diet solid and do some cardio, always come back bigger, stronger and leaner.
 
Most programs have de-loads built into them, so it's easy for me to take a week off after a week of PR's.
You can't make progress forever.
