Hey all.
Since I first joined this board a few months ago I learnt literally LOADS of information about BB diets - but I'm still unsure on what my diet should like.. that's why I'm asking you to recommend basic dietary guidelines for my situation.
So, onto my details:
16yrs old, 165cm (or 5'4"), 62kg (or 136pounds). I don't know my BF%...
I've been training for around 6 months & have noticed good gains in all departments.
My main goal is to decrease bodyfat, while increasing LBM slightly (or at least maintain my LBM).

As I said I'm not sure what my diet should look like... Should I follow the 'male cutting plan'? Should I eat carbs in constant moderation or do periodic carb-ups? What's best post-workout (aside from protein shakes)?
Does my age mean I shouldn't follow all of the advice on this board? Like what?
Hope you guys can help - Thanks!! :thumb:

Your still a beginner, so:

set your cals around 15 x bw.
follow DPw8's suggestions for carbs (ie slow burning) and don't neglect the fats.
Just learn how to eat clean, you'll probably gain LBM and lose BF simoultaneously seeing as you're still a beginner.
Maybe a weekly cheat meal so you don't go crazy.

At your age and stats, I don't think "cutting" is what you should be doing. Follow a basic healthy meal plan that includes adequate protein, fibre-rich slow-burning carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Eat 6 times a day w/ protein, fat and carbs in every meal....that means veggies too! Make sure you drink adequate water as well and if you drink pop, make sure it's diet.

As far as losing bodyfat is concerned, your stats certainly don't say "overweight"....if I were I'd concentrate on adding LBM (because it's the perfect time for you to grow) and as you gain more muscle you will notice your bodyfat will decrease naturally.

This is in the eye of the beholder. When I wrestled in high school, our 103 lbs guy was a fat little fuk, he had a bigger gut than our 189 lbs guy. :D

hey this is gonna sound rough but seriously now is the time to build mass. It will come so easily now exploit it as much as possilbe. Keep an eye on bodyfat and cals if by gets out of hand do a very mild cut and proccead. I wouldnt even consider cutting at your age unless you get over 15-20% bf. Start eating clean now, grow like a weed and enjoy the results as you get older. You have a basic understanding of whats foods are good from the article, now begin to incorperate them into your diet and see how they work for you. The #1 rule of this game is finding what works for you, not for some one else.
best of luck with it cj

Alright - cheers for all your input. :thumb:
Having acces all this info can be a bit overwhelming when you don't know if it applies to you or not.
Thanks for clearing some of it up for me!
Peace.
