Just wanted to get the forums opinion on dips. I do 3 sets of 8-10 leaning forward with a 45 hooked to the belt hoping that I am working chest and tris. Does anyone else like this exercise or am I wasting my time? Thanks for your input.

Dips are an awesome exercise. I like going heavier myself, but there is certainly nothing wrong with 8-10 repetitions. Rock on.

I love dips, you are not wasting your time. Just so your know, use a wider grip and lean forward for more chest work and use a closer grip and stay up right to use more tris.

I love dips it's a great feeling to totally relaxe the tricep as you lower yourself. you can really focus on the muscle that way. I don't use weights on them anymore. IMO, close grip BP is far more effective as a mass builder.

Dips are great. Depending on where in your routine you hve them they can be pretty hard. I like to do them first or second on chest/tri day.

i like doing them very last when im most tired, so they are more intense.

I usually do a couple sets of dips till failure at the end of a Chest/Tricep workout (without additional weight); I love it. I will sometimes also do pushups as well.
