Interesting concept, I know, but I think I may have stumbled upon the solution to one of life's great mysteries: Is the 'sandpaper' on a barbell to help you grip it when lifting heavy weights, or just an evil plan hatched by the makers of skincare products to increase sales?
Sorry, couldn't resist.

1) It doesnt hurt me lifting weights with it, but when its really heavy weights it hurts the hands.
2) It looks good
3) I can do more heavier weights for more reps then without it.
But it feels really good when you take em off and lift some weight too![]()

To be honest, I find it MUCH easier to get a solid grip WITHOUT gloves. Gloves just put an additional layer between your hand and the bar, which makes gripping more difficult.Squaggleboggin said:That's one reason why I believe gloves are not a good thing (in most cases). Why not do away with them and increase your grip strength? Everyone could use more grip strength IMO.
