Im talking about the guy thats likes to walk around and try to talk to people more than he likes to lift? Is it just me or does that person just annoy the F&ck outta you? I have one at my gym and he will be there when i get there, ill get my workout in about 1 1/2 ( with carido that i do)and he will still be doing his one set and then take a 10 minuete walk annoying people. i seriously want to just want to put one of them kid leashes on his neck and when he tryingt o leave his work out area ill pull the leash and knock him on his ass.
 
I have a few people like that at my gym.

This one guy at my gym does one set of bicep curls, then walks to the front desk and talks to the chick at the counter for ten to fifteen minutes, then does another set of curls.

Then there's the people who like to sit on the Leg Curl and Leg Extension machines and talk for thirty minutes on my leg day :mad:
 
We all have those people at our gyms. It doesn't bother me one bit. I could give a shit if there were monkeys running around in tutu's as long as you don't get in my way.
 
Of course I have people like that. I also get a bunch of 14 year olds who take of areas and don't know what they are doing. It also says noone under 16 allowed on the door. Oh well.
 
Yes my wife in our home gym. I'll start locking the doors so she can't come in. She can train after I'm done. That's right Foreman, Linda started working out. Idea you came back here and I'll send her to your house. Then we can lift together.

90% of my gym is like that considering its a college gym on campus chit chat for 10 do a set on bench chit chat for 10 do another set
 
We have some like that in the a.m - walking around with their coffee and doing one set every 15 minutes or so... we don't let it bother us to much. And of course, the after school younger crowd that just comes in to socialize..
 
i go to a hardcore gym dudes just grunt and point in between protein farts
 
i prefer the guy that walks around stiff as a board because he's constantly flexing his biceps and spreading his lats to look big........

or the guy that wears a really baggy cutoff tshirt to show off his big arms and hid his fat gut......

or the girl that sits on a machine and puts the least possible amount of weight on the machine and does 100 reps over about 5 minutes while she's half asleep.....

or the dude that puts weight on the barbell he has no business to use and has his friend lift the bar, help him stabilize it on the way down, and pull 50% of its weight up on the first rep. Oh yeah, and he's grunting like Lou Ferigno.

....and my favorite, the guy that talks really loudly with his buddies in between sets about all the cool training methods he's using and how he's gonna "sculp his biceps", until you follow him out of the parking lot later and see him switch his turn signal on for the taco bell.
 
There are these guys at my gym that come to "walk" on treadmills (and that too flat, not inclined or anything) and walk for hours. i mean literally for 1-2 hrs. When they do it in peak hours (monring/evenings) I want to yell at em, go fuckin walk outside jackasses. :pissed:

Yes and I want to beat them all to death......90% of the time they hog the best equipment and do about 1 set every 10 minutes.

what can you do about it? they dont have gym police and my name isnt on the door so i really cant say shit. i just give them dirty looks and hope that they get the point. i just hate when your trying to lift and some idiot wants to shoot the shit. its like listen here buddy im not here for social hour im here to hit the weights hard and go home and if u want a spot or something sure ill give you your spot but lets not chit chat like were long lost best friends..... i think that gym should have about 2 hours aday that all the reject asswipes can come in for social hour and then the rest of the time is for the real lifters.... I guess we can only hope that one day there doing legs and in the middle of a squat there legs give out and bends them likea pretzle hoping that they break everything and cant come to the gym for a long time... all right i take that back i dont need bad karma
 
I saw a woman talking on her cell phone while she was working out...and I mean the ENTIRE TIME she was working out...I saw her 3 different times on different machines and every time still on her cell phone....I leave that shit in the car...

People talking in the gym doesn't bother me though...not that much...hell we're all guilty of that at some point or another....

I workout at home, but I have to imagine that if you sneak a little (very little) amount of lime onto the bench in between their sets (that 10 minute break), they'll free up the the bench. Just remember to wipe it down well.
 
There are all of kinds of "characters" at the gym. I never let any of them bother me to the extent that I get upset over their behavior - only if it interferes with my workout, which doesn't happen often or at all for that matter.

Sad to say, but I don't give out any friendly signals when I'm training. If someone wants to chat for a few seconds that's fine. When I am ready for the next exercise or set, I politely excuse myself from the situation.

You can only control yourself, your reaction to others, and your environment. Why waste time observing/thinking/stewing over what someone else is doing? Am I going to drain my energy over something that is out of my control? No, I don't think so...

Ignore the behavior of others and in time it will be extinguished - you'll find your workout zone and when you do, all else fades away.
 
My favorites are the trainers who circut train there clients with an array of 5-7.5 lb dumbells and 3 benches, all in front of the 100 lbs and upp dumbells, so I have to kill my self hauling 120s back and forth 1/2 way across the gym.

I start dropping the wieghts about 2 feet in front of them with a crash and rolling them fast on the floor through there precious work out coven, nearly hitting them all.......Like there isn't another 10,000 sq feet to do swiss ball crunches..... You just have to fucking do them infront of the heavy wieghts......hey honey thats why they got an arobics room!!!! and no ones useing it right now!!!! And stop fucking jumping rope 1 foot behind where I'm squating 405, or I'm going to dump it on your ass!!!!! Oh yeah cute little instructor....if you tie of that streachy band to my power rack once more, I'm going to cut it at full extention and watch it smack you in the eye.!!!!! Hey fat slob... wipe your stinking sweat pool off the bench, before I mop it up with your face.


And thats just what happened on monday....god they hate me there!!!!

Lol, I was doing Barbell curls and this guy came up to me when i finished the first set and lifted it and started to do em. I was like hey what are you doing? He like nothing getting a little curls in. Then hes like hey man how much can you bench? Iv been putting up a good 250 these days. And i laughed because the guy was about 150 lbs 5'7 and had no muscle what so ever.
 
sounds like one of those asshats that grabs way to much weight for him and goes down 2 inches oan bench press and then back up like that fucking doing anything!!!!!!!! i just want to say hey buddy i know your grabbing all that weight to try to impress me or someone else around you but when u go 2 inches and then up u make me hope that your arms give out and u drop that weight on your face... id atleast be a nice guy and go get someone else to clean u up =)

headphones are godly UNLESS u accidentally make EYE contact with someone.. then it is will u spot me, and how u been, u have any kids, where did u go to school.... im gonna write and complain to ipod to make headphones that wont let u make eye contact with people at the gym
 
yes, despite headphones i get still get trapped

you have to just look real intense and pissed, low rest times, and if you make eye contact just wink and look away
 
There is this guy at my gym who smells horrible and it lingers where he has been working out. It is fucking horrid and I don't understand why he won't throw on some deoderant. He seriously can fill up a 10 foot square area with stench.
 
My gym actually has a class called ???Abs buns and gossip???:spaz: for all the girls (both male and female) it???s early in the morning and it keeps them out of the main part of the gym.:thumb:
But for the most part my gyms decent; I???m a cook by trade so I can go after the morning rush and before I start @ 11.
 
i hate those people who pull that kind of bullshit.i went to a gym with an older friend of mine during the summer to train for soccer season.i swear to god i wanted to kill some people there because they were so damn annoying.people taking up leg lifts doing like 30 pounds and talking to someone next to them who is takin up space.one kid was like liftin up the leg press nd lettin em drop,he nearly cracked a weight.i told him to get the hell off and squarely pick his ass up,walked like 5 feet nd dropped his ass onto the ground.lol then his dad comes up nd starts bitching at me about it

Yeah we got a few...they do the same fucking exercise every day and NEVER hit legs. They bullshit like its a contest...They try to talk to me but I leave my ipod on loud so I drown them out. Not being rude, I just dont like anyone. Personally I'd like to bask their heads against the Hammer Strength Chest Press machine.
Here's another..how about the jerkoff talking on his cell with his crotch hanging out of his shorts and a leg propped on a machine. He's worse than the annoying cell phone guy at the movies. Made me vomit.
