i just read a book by arnold and in it said that person should not eat heavy before a workout but on some weight lifting show on TV they said that heavy eating is great before lifting i was wondering who is right.

I usally eat about an hour and a half before a workout . Gives the food a bit of time to set in so i can get the strenght i need to work HARD . Then i take in a little meal as soon after as possible .

Don't workout on a full stomic, your asking for trouble, give yourself 1 to 2 hours.
If you workout first thing in the morning, I'd just stick to a protien shake and maybe a banana.

Ever try doing legs on a full stomic, ewwww could be nasty!!

what do you mean by nasty?

I've puked once doing legs (partly because of a cold I think) I could just imagin the mess if the same thing happened on a full stomic.:barf:

oh lol i had the worst workout ever today i have a fever and looks like my shoulder is badly injured it kinda clicks inside when i rotate my arm

Clicks? That doesn't sound good.

Yeah, that can't be good Kane, get some rest, being sick sucks.

i got them in my other shoulder too but they arent as bad i am thinking about a week off and bengay ever couple of hours

My shoulder sounds like a ratchet sometimes at the start of a workout. It stops when I'm warmed up good.Glucosamine/chondroitin helps alot, it keeps the pain away & seems to make it more resilliant. It usually takes a week or two to notice effects if you've been "popping" awhile.Give it try,if it doesn't help see a doctor.Don't try anything to mask the pain, you'll make it worse by not realizing how bad it hurts and cause more damage.
As far as eating before a workout--go w/ about 2hrs & try just a shake.Make sure you have good balanced meals the rest of the day

I like to lift on a full stomach but I usually wait 1 or 2 hours especially on legs, sort of feels like it is gonna come up:barf:

I don't know anyone who can give it their best when eating just B4 a workout, I wait an hour or so.
However I definetely hit the supp's and tucker straight after!

does any one know what are those two plates in the back called? and what does it feel like if one of em is dislocated? i think that i dislocated one of "wings" cause when i flex it there is slight pain and it feels weird and the movement that is make is different than the movement the other one makes.

Your shoulder blades are medically called scapula.

thanks man i was always wondering what they were called. The cracking my shoulder is not going away so isnt the pain i will have to go see a doctor if i am not %100 at sunday

a high carb snack right before a workout is essential for fueling up muscles and giving them enough energy for intense training

I just stick to my normal 6 meal a day diet and wait 60-70 minutes after a meal to work out.

i heard that eating a meal 2hours before the workoutwhich contained at least carb and protein increased your growth hormones released during the workout.

depends on what you are eating... personally, i eat lots of carbs before the workout, and protein during the workout

Why do you eat during your work-out?

Yes, eating DURRING your workout wouldn't be a good idea as your digestive system pretty much shuts down.

Damn, I'm the odd man out here.

I usually eat a small to medium sized meal 30 minutes before I lift, then a whey drink right before. Sometimes I skip the drink and just eat before.

If I don't, I get hungry while lifting, which totally sucks.

I also eat just before working out Matt, i workout in the morning as soon as I get up so all I have time for is a shake and a Banana but I've NEVER eaten durring a workout.

I never eat carbs before i train. I train better without them.

try each way for a long time then you will know the right
