Less than two weeks out from my show and energy levels are starting to tank. Diet is chicken, fish, greens, and 1.5 sweet potatoes (a little over 3,000 cals.). Only change to diet has been I replaced red meat with chicken. Training routine has not changed except added 25 minutes of low intensity cardio at the end of my workout. Continuing to get lean without losing size so my plan is working. Any thoughts on what I can do to boost energy levels at this point without impacting progress?

FWIW, it sounds like you're right on schedule! Up until you start your carb up right before the show you should feel like shit. I kinda want to say just suck it up and deal w/ it. From my own experience I've done cuts on 800 cals / day + 2-3 hrs of cardio, if you want to talk about no energy. (Not that I recommend that btw...) Are you using any thermos? You might try that - just keep it to the morning to early afternoon so it doesn't also keep you from sleeping. The art of contest prep is efficient energy consumption and recovery, so getting good sleep is critical to keeping cortisol down, and then reducing water retention and all the other shit that comes w/ it.

Its only 10 days before you start a good carb up, so just stick with it. If your fats are lower, you might try upping them a little. But make it a very conservative experiment so you don't stall out what you have going right now.

3000 cals? What weight class will you be in if you dont mind me asking?

Sassy, thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it. Kinda' figured "it is what it is" and I'm fine with that. While I still have my training journals from my last show, I hadn't recorded when I started dragging so wasn't certain if I needed to make an adjustment. Indrox, looks like I might be in light class although I'm not targeting to be any particular weight. Will be in Masters 40-49 and weight currently is 155. I'm 6 days out as of today.
