I feel like a d-bag for even posting this, BUT.... does this seem ok? I like hot dogs (who doesn't)....I always thought it was the fat that was the problem...yes they are still high in sodium but 0 fat....so I assume its not THAT bad....any opinions from the diet guru's?

I will eat all kinds of food. This makes me not a diet guru. I just think it's not what you eat but what you don't eat. That's more about amounts and proportions of fat, carbs and protein. If you can make them part of a balance diet that's fine and you should enjoy them. I don't care for them. When it comes to processed food with a long list of ingredients I'll take Ding Dongs over hot dogs every time.

I think its okay?

I think it is pretty alright to eat hotdogs. You just have to keep your proportions in check and the sodium level.

Just an extra note that hotdogs don't have much protein, if you are working on your muscles.

Hotdogs = Puke

There is a lot of other shit in Hot dogs to worry about.

It really depends on your personal goals. Yes, they are much much better than the real thing but they are still highly processed. I say use them in moderation but don't let it be a staple in your diet.

Hotdogs are shit! Nothing but lips and ass. They are poor quality protein, if any protein at all. They have ZERO nutritional value. They are a waste!

I guess I should have clarified...I don't have interest in using them as a daily protein source...but I do BBQ a lot and enjoy entertaining friends and family...typically this involves dogs among other things. I know dogs are llips and assholes and all the other crap they can't just sell to you..haha....But here in Chicago we like them :) So I just wanted to know if this is a guilt free cheat mean without really cheating. Up until now I would either feel bad or not eat them.

Personally, I wouldn't eat them and I've save my calories for a great burger or steak off the grill!

I have zero guilt about eating a 12oz filet mignon off the grill...I don't count that as a "bad" meal. I don't season it, and I cook it med/rare....now and then if I get frisky I wrap it in bacon...yum! If that is a meal...its all the meal consists off...no carbs except maybe some grilled asparagus.

Burgers are good, and I try to keep some very lean beef in my diet and not feel bad about it...like 95 lean for burgers with whole wheat or no bun.

I don't actually like fish unless its sushi....if its cooked it has to be seasoned...and chicken gets old... I have to keep a little red meat in my diet for my own sanity.

Shoot we don't let a little cold get us down...and those fat free dogs are not that bad (taste)....I cook on my grill all year long. Most of the time I cook chicken breast its on the BBQ....so what I do is cook like 3 days worth at a time so I don't have to go out so often to cook. I have a condo patio that is pretty well covered, and its just outside the door so its not like I walk through snow and ice to cook the food.....its like one step below having the BBQ in the garage. (that was real nice in the winter).

I'm flying up to wrigleyville in less than 24hrs...looking forward to coming back home.

Warm up that BBQ for me :)

Picked a decent time to come up..the weather isn't bad right now....its 8:30a and the sun is night and bright....clear sky's....(hopefully the ice and snow will melt by thte time you land).. :lol:
