Hey guys, what is your favorite meal breakfast, lunch, or dinner, that you eat when you are on a cutting diet? I am looking for some exciting things to eat whilst sheddin bf. Thought I would see what you guys, whom have a lot more experience at this than myself, favorite meals are when cutting.

they are suppose to be fun and exciting? Dang it! Someone didn't tell me!!!

Oh yes! Tuna. ick.

Exciting for me is adding salsa to my turkey, cinnamon in my oats or cream of wheat. My cutting diet is sooooo boring, same food everyday. Takes the fun out of trying to figure out what to eat each day. But it does make it easy to cook.

Breakfast

2 scoops of whey & water
1/2 cup cooked oats
1 medium bannana (added into oats w/ cinammon)

Lunch

4 oz cooked chicken breast
1/2 cup cooked red lentils
1/2 cup cooked brown basmati rice (mixed with lentils)

Dinner

4 oz cooked steak (top sirloin)
1/2 cup cooked asparagus
1/2 cup cooked brocolli
1 cup mixed greens salad w/ 2 tablespoons of olive oil based dressing

Im really growing to like this forum, some very funny people here :) I enjoy some good sarcasm. LAM that sounds like an exciting meal! I am with you guys so far though, I set up a diet plan, and it is the same foods day in and day out, was kinda hoping someone might have a good dish to spice things up a little :)

I make turkey meatloaf and Chili ALOT.

I've posted both those recipes in this forum if your interested.

You've got all sorts of answers for me tonight Jodi, thanks a lot! Turkey meatloaf sounds great, hopefully I won't butcher it too badly!

Well, I guess I won't have to mess up the Turkey meatloaf, cause I can't find the recipe :S Can someone point me to a link? I searched for it, but just came up with this tread, lol. Thanks in advance.

You would be astounded at how boring my diet is. A typical carb meal is
1 cup oat bran (flavoured with banana essence, cinnamon sticks, hot cayenne pepper, some nutmeg and all spice)
1 tablespoon psyllium husk (mixed with oat bran)
6 ounce chicken breast
200g strawberries
1 cup spinach

A typical protein+fat meal
6 ounce eye of round steak with a little minced garlic
5 fish oil caps
2 cups spinach

And you know what? I still love eating those meals. High carb days, though, are still the highlights of my week. I have to say that the best meal I've had in a long time, though, was this:
6 ounces roasted chicken marinated in low-sodium soy sauce, red wine vinegar, garlic and some Splenda
1 cup barley/kamut/oat groat/amaranth mixture
1 1/2 cup mixed greens (arugula, frissee, baby spinach, all organic, mixed it myself)

Usually I'm way too lazy to make anything extravagant, though.

Peace.

I love protein muffins.. They are super clean and absolutely kill the starchy cravings.

I like to cook with ground turkey alot..(stuff like Jodi makes)
I make fajitas with xtra lean ground turkey vegis and salsa. NO tortilla - so sad.

Turkey burgers with no sugar BBQ sauce, tomatos and onion.. not bad.

... and I have used Mikah's recipe for protein muffins (so easy, ew/cc/oats and the secret ingredient? Grated zucchini), huge thumbs up! I'm worse than the Swedish chef in a muppet kitchen, so if even I can make these - anyone can :)

ha- ha thanks Novo. Im pretty bad in the kitchen too. George Foreman does all my cooking for me most of the time.

I also add 1/2 to 3/4 cup grated zuchinni to prtn pancakes and they come out soo good. Got to blend em in the blender with the other stuff. I figure the more vegis the better we are.

Cottage cheese meatloaf is like a little piece of heaven. Its soooooooo good!:lick:

sounds good Jill. I will def try this...

some low carb ideas,
-spaghetti squash is great, you just bake it, cut it open, use a fork to string out the strands and make pasta dishes with it
-portobello mushrooms make a good pizza base if that is your kick, just wash and dry it, put the oven on about 400 and place mushrooms open side up with topping on top, cook for about 10-12 minutes or until toppings are done
-for fake mashed potatoes, cook up some cauliflower(boiled), place in blender with ingredients you like for mashed taters, and blend.
-If you like sandwiches then eat them open face, saves you a slice of bread per sandwich
-Lettuce wraps are always good.

lettuce wraps?? Ive seen some lettuce wraps at Whole foods.. would they be ok to eat if they only have meat and veggies in the inside and not rice?

Id make my own Sara , just because you really dont know exactly what oils and sauces are used on the vegis and meat. Most likely they would be much cleaner made by you. :)

1) I bake ground turkey, poor boiling water over it to get rid of 95% off the fat then I either mix in some green salsa,
2) or some low fat cream of chicken sauce or
3) just add water & tomato sauce & chili seasoning.
4) SHRIMP WITH SOME TYPE OF SEASOING,
5) BAKED CHICKEN ( eat the white meat; its leaner)
6) fish ( lots of seasoing) & green beans
7 )Chicken in a can, mix it with fat free mayo, chopped pickes & celery (its fat free chicken salad basically... I eat 2 wheat crackers only)
8) BROCCOLI & BEEF with some type of low sugar teriyaki sauce
Kipper snacks on 2 crackers,
TONS of grapefruit !

Tons of boiled eggs on salad with fat free dressing !

highlights of my cutting diet include

Rump Steak, with brown rice

Slowww... boiled chicken breast, with lots of herbs and stock cubes, (this is so nice! and tender! the best chicken you will taste!), served with brocolli or sweet potato, or if a lo-carb meal lots of green leafy salad

Strawberries! lovely! will munch on some of them if i'm feeling really drained like now :)

Grilled Salmon and rice/salad, GF grill rules!

and finally... (i've yet to have it but i know it will taste lovely) grilled cajun chicken, mixed with salsa, cottage cheese and lots of salad in a flour tortilla wrap! i will treat myself to that if i hit 100% attendance at all my lectures this week :D

peace

I found another low carb, low fat idea. I am not sure how good it is for you but it seems as though it would be good for a low carb, low fat diet.

2 SCOOPS OF LEAN DESERTS BRAND PROTEIN (CINNAMON ROLL FLAVOR) mixed in with 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese, 2 packets of splenda, some crushed ice, & veey little cold water (just enough to get things blended). I put everything in a blender & blend it.
It tastes great & goes down the hatch like a greeat tasting milk shake. The cottage cheese blended in a blender gives it the milk shake texture along with a gang of protein.
