I just found out that my email address is being sold on the internet. Just like phone companies sell your phone number.

Find Email Addresses | Email Finder | Free Email Search

They show my name and my email as nordic.nymph******.com and you pay 10 dollars to get the whole email address. No wonder my inbox is always fucking flooded with spam.
All you have to do is search for your name to find out if they're selling yours too.

You'd be surprised how much info can be purchased about a person on the internet! Phone numbers, cell numbers, addresses, email addresses, all sorts of imformation. It's a stalkers dream come true! So much for Privacy policies.

I've had my email address since 1996. I'm pretty sure that it's been sold at least a hundred times, probably way more.

It's just part of being on the Internet. Just make sure your email hosting service has a good spam filter. I use Yahoo and I get about one piece of spam in my inbox every few days. I get around 5 or 6 in my bulk mail folder every day, and there are very rarely any false positives.

BTW, I like your avatar pic. Very creative.

Speaking of which, you left your bedroom curtains closed again. Would you mind fixing that?

I told them if they didn't take it down they'd be hearing from a lawyer. There probably isn't a whole lot I can do about it, but it fucking pisses me off. I can't even use that email address anymore because of the ridiculous amount of spam it gets. Marking massages as spam and doing the little 'remove me from mailing list' thing at the bottom of them, hasn't helped a damn bit. If I don't check it for a week, I come back and theres 900 new messages in my inbox. All spam. And when I mark them as that, the next time I come back I'll have 1200 new spam messages.

I dunno if that'll work though... You don't really own the email address, it's part of thier domain namespace.
I'm sure somewhere in the fine print when creating the address, you agreed to thier policy.

Whoever has it and is selling it has no rights to it either. It's a yahoo email address, and yahoo doesn't have any affiliation with this company as far as I can see, and trust me I'm looking.

I know mine's been sold/hacked because I get anywhere between 20-40 postmaster messages a day saying that emails I tried to send had failed. I log onto my email once every 3 or so days, but get these mails everyday.

Furthermore whenever I compose a new message, there's always an automatic thing at the bottom saying something about goods. It has bad spelling and grammar so I'm guessing it's a chinese thing. So annoying and I cba changing my email address.

No wonder that chick was laughing about my penis size before I even did her

Ridiculous

Dammit I always do that. In firefox when you misspell something a little red line shows up under it....unless it's a title bar.

Gmail has a great spam filter.

Yea I have like two gmail accounts but don't really use them because they make you have such a long password that I can't ever pick something I'll remember and then I can never get into my account.
