So as many of you know, Im a cop...I could have been so many other things, but I decided to "save the world", "help people", "be a part of my community" and "a real life hero"....Well, fuck that, im quiting soon to start a new career and oh boy will my last day be a good one (for me)...But thats another story


So there was a DUI accident last night where I work and the drunk who hit another head on was almost dead at the scene. So ofcourse we have to block the whole intersection for the investigation and crime lab to take photos and such...

So im blocking the two lane westbound traffic with by bigass police cruiser wiht all my overhead lights turned on, and because Im smart and have experience, I also bring out my big flares and light them up three in each lane across so people KNOW that the street is blocked...Well most (not all) decided to do the right thing and turn around and a few need a little direction doing so, no problem.......Well, one guy (in a SUBARU outback) comes into the oposite lane and around my flares and cruiser and I directly into the acccident scene...I stop him, and becasue we are a "kinder more gentle police department" I don't start yelling at him and calling him a complete moron who should be shot in the head, but I rather tell him, "Sir, there was a big accident here and you can't go thru", then I proceed to give him directions to go around thru the next neihgborhood....Well the guy turns around and bitches and moans about how he is late to work and that it is my fault...He then turn around, rolls down his window and screams YOU DISGUST ME, then drives off...I laughed my freaking ass ofd when he said that because it is just beyond believe....I still love being a cop when I actually get to do my job instead of dishing out hugs and advice on how to raise children when I dont even have any.....Maybe a long post but it made me feel better venting it out....LOL, some of the shit I see can;;t be made up...

He would have been mad no matter what, because something was inconveniencing him and he, being the little man he was decided to vent it on the scapegoat namely you in this situation.

good luck man it is really a honest and noble way to make a living..but you will never ever understand untill you walk a few miles in our shoes and have a few years under your belt...good luck... I have wokred Vice before and I have been on the joint force taskforce (USM fugitive strikeforce) for a few months and it was a blast...But for the most "action" and excitement you need to be in patrol because those are the guys who always show up first and get to deal wiht shit (unlike what Hollywood wants you to believe)...Be prepared to loos a few hairs tho, you will grow up quick in this job if you start young like I did...

hahahah...What have we here, a Back street lawyer...hey mister "I know my rights" go ahead and tell me whan "Disobaying a lawful order" menas, or what "recklessd river" or "obstructing a police investigation" or "fighting words", yes there is such thing as "fighting words".....You can't say whatever you want, If would want to do something about the guy I would have cited him with obstruction, going the wrong way on the street and ofcourse our favorite "contempt of cop", this menas that you go to jail on an offense that you could just be cited for becasue you opened your big mouth and decided to "excersise your rights"...lol, I bet that happened to you Mr. Lawyer....But we only use those things on real shit bags in the hood...Others like you are proably just normal generally law abiding good people who are just like sheep and need to be sheephered along for your own good...

It's not a job for everyone. Most of the guys I know who are cops like the job, or at least, can't think of anything else they would rather do, so they stay on. It's not a job for my personality that's for sure. Back in the day, my buddies tried to convince me to join the force, but I knew it was not for me as i take things too personally....Some times a change of Dept/location makes a big difference. Consider that? I had a buddy who really hated the dept/area he worked, and changing that solved it. He realized it was not being a cop, but the area/dept he worked for that was the problem. In this economy, I would not give up a job unless you are walking right into another one. Good luck.

well, i absolutely love the act of being a cop, you know catching bad guys and such...A LOT AND I MEAN A LOT, of people in my department are staying because they are stuck...retirement, housepayment, children and ofcourse medical insurance.....I don;t have any of those problems, but i have a education and many differenct connections in the world...so why whould i give up my mental health for liberal assholes (including my chain of command) who only look out for politics.............Im a god cop, and very talented at what I do, but deffenantly not the post popular wiht the brass because of my outspokenes and jaded view of them...I thought about going to Austin pd for a second...would start out at 72K a year.
