Just got a call from work, a great guy that I worked with almost side by side for 10 years passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 42. He leaves behind a wife and 2 young daughters.

My first call was to my wife who knew him well and then I grabbed my daughter and held her tight.

Time on this planet can be cut short, love those around you. I'm going in to work to see if I can be any help to my coworkers and his family.

Be back in a few days Napsters, say a prayer for my friend.

R.I.P. Big Dan, I'm gonna miss you Brother.

Sorry to hear that Anabolic, It sucks big time. We are going through the same thing at my company. Its like a death in your personal family because you spend more time with this person than you do with most of your family. thoughts and prayers go out to you.

This is why we should all cherish the time we have.
Life can be cut short at any moment.
 
Sorry for your loss Brother RIP Dan.. Definitely an eye opener, life is too short ! really need to make each moment count, especially with our loved ones.

Sorry to hear that. 42 is very young. Praying for the family and you as you fill in the gap.

Thanks everybody, much appreciated.

Went and saw Dan's wife and kids last night. We all talked about him, the good he brought into the world. My daughter was in a great mood and lightened things up a bit with her innocence.

In all the years I knew Dan, I never heard a single negative word about him or from him. We worked side by side for years, never heard him ask for one thing but he was always the first to offer whatever he had. He was the first person I called when my daughter was born and besides family was the first person at the hospital to see her.

He was a big guy, yes he was overweight but he was who he was. He started trying to lose some weight a hundred times, but his vice was food and I will never say one word about his weight. Please don't bring it up if it was the cause of his early demise, well so be it. It's too late to fix, so let it go.

I am gonna lay low the next few days, I'll be here on and off just because I don't know where else to be. Please direct all Naps based pm's to GXR and Chris, Monday I'll be back in full swing.

Once again, R.I.P. Big Dan. I love you my Brother, guess God just needed someone as good as you to help him out.
 
My brother I am so sorry man and there are no words to begin to describe my sympathy. You know I am here and know much love comes from my heart to you man!!!

Thanks everybody. We were gonna take Dan's wife and daughters to dinner, they called and said could we just BBQ here and the girls could swim. Hell yes!! It's amazing what 90 degree weather and a pool can do to cheer up two little girls. I've had my daughter in the pool, she loves it. Dan's girls were splashing and having fun and my male Rottie decided to join them. Guess he knew they needed some love. We've been talking about Dan, having a couple of beers and I truly think they will be ok as soon as the shock wears off. We will all miss him, but he left a solid legacy. Too you Big Dan, cheers my friend!! Cya someday in Heaven Brother, take care of the place until then.
 
Man just got around to seeing this. That's horrible , but he's lucky to have such a good friend to help look after his family. Sorry for the loss and my prayers to that mother and her kids.

Dan's funeral is at 11:30 tomorrow, his wife has asked me to get up and say a few words about him. I am not good with or in front of people and I am terrified. My wife told me to get up there, look down like I am reading notes and let it go from the heart. I am gonna do it.

Tomorrow at 11:30am Pacific, need you all to give me strength. I'd rather take an ass kicking then get up in front of people, but Dan is my friend and I am gonna do my best.

I'm sure you'll do fine, when u speak from the heart it's felt & they chose u for a reason.. I'm sure your words will move & inspire.
The funeralis always the hardest part.
