Anyone have good results without benching? What exercises? I've read interviews with 2 pros. One said military isn't important for good shoulders (I don't believe that). The other said bench is overated for chest development.....hmm.

I have had much success using primarily variations of the bench press. Flys are the only supplemental exercise I use.

i like inclines more then flat bench if that is what you are referring to

for a lot of people the flat bb bench is not a good chest exercise. it is all due to genetics/biomechanics (issertion points of tendons, ligaments, muscles, etc).

for some of us the flat bb bench is the king of chest exercises. I know that I have always had great sucess in strength and hypertrophy using the flat bb bench...

Cable Cross works rather well. Its also
very good when you need a quick pump
without crushing your button down shirt ;)

I like decline dumbell presses, and, incline
dumbell presses.

However, if you want to eliminate a bench
alltogether..........Cable Cross.

word up on the incline dumbells, gives a great range of motion, i also like incline flys
, i just started doing dumbell pullovers and so far am really liking it

Bench Press is an extremly overrated movement just for the fact that every uneducated teenager bench presses 3-4 times a week. It's a great movement, and in my opinion a great addition to a chest routine. Military Press is also a great shoulder builder.

Not saying you can???t get gains without flat bench press, but IMO not doing bench is like doing leg extension thinking your gains will be the same as doing squats.

flat bb bench is a strength test for me. i feel the chest is better developed with some of the other exercises y'all have already listed.

so, uh, what did this pro in the interview say you should do instead of bench? (...and what pro and what publication is this from?)
