Growing without enough sleep

I have an extremely hard time getting enough sleep at night, I don't know what it is but my body or mind seems conditioned to get on average 6 hours of sleep; sometimes (often) less even. Especially during the week it is impossible for me to get a full 8 hours of sleep. If I try going to bed early I just lay there awake. If I wake after say 4-1/2 to 5 hours of sleep it's very difficult to fall back asleep until that damn alarm goes off.

Is this going to seriously effect my body's ability to grow? Everything I read seems to point to yes, that 8 hours MINIMUM is required for the muscles to properly heal. So what is a guy like me to do? I can't be the only one....am I? lol
 
If you're not getting enough sleep, you should really think about not getting enough training for a while
 
When I'm in great cardiovascular shape I only need 4-5 hours of sleep wit maybe a short nap in the daytime and I wake up refreshed and g2g. When I'm fat and happy I need 6-8 hours. Shit in Jay and Ronnie's vids they only sleep 4-5 hrs a day worked for them. Also quality matters. 4 hours of deep sleep is better than 6 hours of broken up light sleep
 
Try to get in a power nap sometime during the day if your not getting enough sleep at night. 45 min nap and im g2g! Btw I rarely get 8 hours.
 
Sleep is dependent upon the individual.

This. How do you feel with that amount of sleep. It would only probably be a problem if you felt like shit day in day out. Some people need minimal sleep.
 
Do you train in the morning or at night? Some people seem to get energized after their workout and can't sleep correctly while others such as myself can't stay awake after their workout. I get home after I train, drink my post workout shake and take a hot ass shower and I fall asleep within 5 minutes. You may want to switch your training time depending on how you feel after your workouts and see if that helps.
 
Get on some HGH! That shit will knock you out at night. Hell, I find myself falling asleep during the day sometimes while on it.
 
Lot of guys grow on tren and only get 4-5 hrs of sleep. Guess it depends on the individual and what substances youre abusing.
 
1Thanks for all the replies guys, sorry getting back to my own thread so late. Yah maybe it is just me and my own individual needs, as long as I get 5-6 hours I seem to be good to go thru the day. As for taking naps, I WISH! haha, I've never been able to just take a nap thru the day, mad jealous of any that can lol. Not abusing any supps, training natty for good while to get a base going, hopefully a BIG base haha. Was just worried that not getting the 8 hours sleep would be a negative for my muslce growth but I feel better now. Thanks again

There's merit to this, about the cardio, definitely for me at least. I do notice that when I'm eating cleaner I can definitely function a helluva lot better with less sleep than if I'm not.
 
GO to ur local store and get melatonin (not melatonan the peptide) melatonin is a natural sleep aid. it works wonders. cheers

muscles wont properly heal? thats the dumbest shit ive ever heard. It will just take LONGER to heal, that is all.

Maybe you are working out to late in the day? stimulants past noon?

try some melatonin. start with 5mg for a few days, move to 10mgs if needed.
 
You can grow with less sleep as long as you intake enough calories and do the math for how many you burn at resting heart rate- or when sleeping. 6 hours would be great if you can? When I diet, it 4 to 6 hours w/ sleeping agents!
 
Go see a doctor if its a problem, or find a way to get some xanax.
 
Arnie used to say you should get 6 hours of sleep and if you sleep any longer to sleep faster.
 
Melatonin I've tried on several different occasions in the past, doesn't work for me. In fact that shit makes my sleep MORE upset; bad dreams, tossing and turning, constantly waking thru the night. Too bad, it is a cheap supplement that works well for many, just not me.
