does a high fat, low carb diet work?
My goal is to lose body fat, I am a female 23% bf, 5'4 and 130 pounds.
thanks:rolleyes:

It's not a very healthy diet but high protein/fat with almost no carbs can work. You will definitely lose weight but most will be muscle and water and not fat.

You are much better off doing a balanced diet that is 300-500 calories below your maintenance calories... and lift heavy weights (don't worry you won't look like a body builder without doing massive steroids)

Weight lifting does wonders for your metabolism.

Losing weight is all about eating less calories than you take in. Read the stickies in the diet and training sections.

Don't do a fad diet. Stay healthy.

what is consider low carb? right now I am taking around a 100, half of them after my post workout (banana and juice)

NeilPearson's got a good idea. And remember cardio. It helps a lot..

Have about 6 small meals a day so you dont get hungry, but at the sametime, dont eat big meals. Have about 1-2 protein shakes a day. Cut on calories and eat vegetables. :) you'll see result. Dont keep your self hungry to think your going to lose fat, cause then you'll just get weak and might get sick. Make sure you eat, and eat healthy :).

I do cardio for 45 m 4 times a week and weigh train 2 a week, is that too much cardio? shoud I be training with weights more?
