My last blood draw indicates I have high hemoglobin level, my doc tells me this is common when on TRT for an extended time, keeping my test level in the high part of normal range and the only way to reduce it is to reduce TRT or test levels to just above the lowest normal range. I really do not want to do that, but in looking around have not found much in the way of methods to reduce other than this: increasing the intake of iron-rich foods (eggs, spinach, artichokes, beans, lean meats, and seafood) and foods rich in cofactors (such as vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, and vitamin C) important for maintaining normal hemoglobin levels. Such foods include fish, vegetables, nuts, cereals, peas, and citrus fruits.

I've read here about giving blood to help reduce levels, but I am not allowed to give blood, I've had Hep C so that is a no go. Any ideas, knowledge or experience I would appreciate.

You may have to draw your own blood and dump it.

The trt Doc should be able to of prescribed a blow donation witch they destroy.

Great idea if it works... I don't mind drawing my own blood.. Thanks!

Yeah I?m really surprised your doctor didn?t suggest a blood dump. Will bring you down to reasonable range. Either way, we should all be donating blood for this reason as often as possible (every 8 weeks)
